Not everyone is lucky to have food to eat, clothes on their back, a roof over their head and a place to sleep. Right now, if you can read this article, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world, who cannot read at all. This realization is called an `attitude of gratitude’ which has the power to always make you happy.
Life is full of abundance and countless blessings but most look only at the material things they receive. Have you, as a young professional, likely with a good job, a competitive salary, living in an urban apartment, ever considered these gifts?
People always complain about their jobs and how much they need. They always have high expectations for paycheck, job security and accountabilities, but have little or no willingness at all to work hard or remain loyal to a company. If that blessing of a good job which you are complaining about is taken away from you, even just for a moment, how would you feel? Surely, you do not want to get rid of the income associated with the job.
The reason for highlighting this aspect is to inculcate the idea that nothing is perfect in this imperfect world. We have imperfect people, organizations, jobs, relationships, etc. The best thing one can focus on is to identify and accept that reality, then with a feeling of fulfilment and contentment, keep on moving to continuously develop in the professional arena and keep on looking for better options and not the perfect ones.
So, if you feel a surge of job frustration, then be mindful of how you adapt to the environment and with an attitude of gratitude, channel your positive energies to attain happiness in life.
• Make a list of your blessings and see how lucky you are now
• Always be thankful for even the simple things you have in life
• Channel positive energies in order to attract happiness in life
