It is lovely to see helium-filled balloons of different colors fly high in the air. There is yellow, white, red, orange, blue, etc. Will all fly high in the open irrespective of color? Yes, the balloon may be black, but it will still go up for it is not its color that makes it fly, it is what is inside it.
This is similarly true for all of us who are of different nationalities, skin color, origin and education. We do not grow professionally or wiser by virtue of these attributes; rather, we grow because of who we are inside and this is our ''positive mental attitude.'' Always remember that it is our attitude which will solely determine the altitude that we can attain in our careers and personal lives.
What mental attitude do you carry towards your professional life? Is it positive or negative? What are your long-term career aspirations? Are they challenging and big, or meager and small? How do you view failures? Do you interpret them as a ''stop'' sign, or a guideline to take more educated decisions next time? Do you view this world as a window of opportunity to do well with others, or an opportunity for you to fulfill your superficial goals?
Sincere answers to all those questions determine the quality of your mental attitude which will take you to the ''height'' you are aiming for. If you have not achieved some of your burning desires and goals yet, look into your attitude. If it is not what you want, change it. How can you attain a winning positive attitude? The best way is to forcefully look towards the positive side of everything. Make positivity proportionately bigger than negativity. Be careful with your choice of words and the language you are using, be it in the office or at home, as it unconsciously conditions your mind and shapes your mental attitude.
So, today, decide what your attitude and reply will be if someone asks you ''How are you? How is life treating you?'' Maybe you can respond with ''Terrific!'' and mean it.
• It is attitude that will determine what you can achieve
• Think and act more productively with a positive attitude
• Be careful with your choice of words at work and at home
