If you multiply any amount by the figure zero, you will always get the same result which is zero. Even if you are not very good in math, you can still make this simple calculation and get the right result.
Death can be likened to zero. When it is multiplied by social status, fame, business and career, it equals to nothing. All of the mentioned elements are only given value before we reach ''zero'' in life. Thus, the only thing in our hands is the time given to us before the big zero comes.
If you write the figure ''0000000000000,'' does it have any value? The answer is no. However, if you put an absolute number before the zeroes, e.g. ''1,'' its value changes drastically. Each successive zero enhances the power of the other. This signifies that the most important aspect in the formula is the right placement of the number 1.
As a metaphor, the number ''1'' represents integrity and character, which, if given priority, will create power with every zero in our life (job, status, wealth and others). However, if integrity and character are non-existent, all the ''zeroes'' will not have any significance in the long run. Thus, any achievement or success attained in the absence of values still amounts to nothing.
The importance of putting the figure ''1'' in the right place means that the priorities and choices in every domain of our life must be directed by values in order to achieve ultimate success.
In this world, the criteria of success is measured by a hefty bank balance, a fleet of fancy cars, yachts and private planes, power and fame. How many people are actually happy with such ''success?'' Maybe a few. What about the rest? Which category do they fall into?As per the set world standards, they are considered ''failures.''
Rather than establishing our own definition of success, we must take the definition which makes everyone happy, and that is switching the focus from taking mode to giving mode. That is the kind of success we must strive to achieve.
• Give priority to integrity in oneself rather than in worldly assets
• Success is something done with character and moral values
• True happiness comes from sharing and giving in many forms
