Every day over the past few weeks, I waited for at least half an hour to get my laptop up and running. I knew there were some problems with it resulting in me wasting some of my most productive time.
Apart from the delay in getting it to start, it also spoiled my mood and made me irritable. In this manner, the lack of productivity also crept into the other parts of my working hours. I finally decided to change my laptop and soon realized how my productivity was getting affected on account of a tool that was a hindrance to it.
Most of us use tools that do not aid in our work. We should remember to use the right tool to get things done in a quicker and more efficient manner, and enhance our productivity. Total care should be taken to ensure that it helps us provide better output.
Varied easy-to-use and functioning technologies, equipment and devices not only save time and energy, but also create a positive atmosphere which is a crucial factor when it comes to performance. These devices and tools also reduce stress and motivate us to do our job well.
The right tools are not limited to the physical resources provided by the organization. These also include the efforts we take to enhance our knowledge and skill base. This is possible through training and development, reading, listening to audio books, attending conferences and seminars as well as observing how people who are better than us get their jobs done. This also means learning from our mistakes and striving to improve every day.
When we take the necessary steps to create the right tools that we need, we are bound to get the results that we want in a hassle free manner.
• Enhance skills through training, conferences and seminars
• Train your people how to utilize their resources for success
• Right tools help get more done in less time, with less stress
