Job Details

Conduct indepth Section 508/WCAG assessments via manual reviews and using automated test tools and assistive technologies.Compile reports concerning failures in Section 508/WCAG compliance and ways to resolve.Review Section 508/WCAG compliance defects with developers and discuss possible resolutions.Monitor resolution of Section 508/WCAG compliance violations.Performing accessibility checks with automated tools and verifying the results manually.Checking accessibility properties of each and every UI element by reviewing the code if availableor using other tools, e.g. Inspect Objects, accprobe or aViewer. Minimum qualifications/Mandatory skills 2-3 years of experience in Accessibility Testing with minimum 6 months of experience oftesting with screen readers. In depth understanding of WCAG 2.0, Section 508, ADA, other accessibility laws and standards. Experience using Accessibility testing tools as well as screen readers such as JAWS, talkbackand Voiceover. Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript Expert at time management as well as working & finding answers to questions independently Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills. SkillsetAccessibility Tools JAWS, NVDA, Window-Eyes, aViewer, accprobe, Inspect Object, ColorContrast, Analyzer, Voice Over, Talk BackAreas WCAG 2.0, Section 508, WAI-ARIA, Web Accessibility.OS Windows 7, Mac OS X, iOS, Android Analyzing the behavior of various assistive technologies and the way of their interaction with different languages/technologies/frameworks.Checking color properties (their color contrast ratios with respect to background and foreground)of each and every UI element to make sure that they are viewable by normal as well as users with color vision impairments.Suggesting probable and practical alternative design for UI elements to enhance their accessibilitywith respect to the assistive technologies.Reporting issues/errors to the development colleagues for probable fixes.Suggesting probable and practical solutions for the issues reported to the developers and product managers.Creating Accessibility Status Documents (ASDs) for a particular release of each product tested.Presenting demo sessions to the developers and product managers on Accessibility on a regularbasis.
Degree: MCA/ PGDCA

Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering)
