Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will play a major role in the transformation of the GE Vision from Industrial Company to Industrial Software Company by deploying the sensor enablement, equipment transformation across the factory and support the Brilliant factory initiative. Also execute the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing. Support efforts to consistently improve product and process quality.Essential ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities/essential functions include Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production Work with manufacturing leadership to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design Monitor and improve productivity through the use of Lean Six Sigma or related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner Participate in early focus on manufacturability in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs. Drive rigor in process capability assessment, process layout, tooling and equipment development and QMS Design Transfer execution Clearly understand existing processes in order to provide support for manufacturing process technology roadmap Support and execute AME initiatives with wide business impact and ensure to share best practices across the Global Supply Chain Drive AME initiatives across sites while providing business-wide impact and enabling sharing of best practices across the Global Supply Chain Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance Help execute continuous simplification of QMS methods and their applications by working with cross-functional team including Operations and Quality Assurance. Work with the facilities and maintenance team to implement change and ensure the required product capacity is in place before it is required by customer demandQualifications/RequirementsQualifications/RequirementsBasic Qualifications 1. Education Bachelor or Master Degree in Material Science, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and control Engineering from a reputed college /university2. Additional qualifications in Six Sigma and EHS will be desirable3. Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills4. Ability to work independentlyRequirements1.Minimum of 8 - 12 Years of hands on experience in manufacturing engineering, special purpose equipment development and intensive processes characterization2.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in handling equipment, assembly station, test rig development and special purpose machine development are necessary3.Minimum 3-5 years of hands on experience on PLC/HMI/SCADA/Micro controller programming is a must4. Experience in selection and Design of programmable logic controller devices and drives and proven expertise of integrating PLC devices to the system Previous experience with Industrial Turnkey automation systems5. Shall have good experience in selection of various sensors and data acquisition methods including integration activities6. Shall have good understanding of Advanced Manufacturing Techniques, assembly & testing practices and also ergonomics aspects of manufacturing.7. Experience in handling Process control, quality management activities related to Calibration, verification, Validation, Preventive maintenance scheduling and record keeping.8. Experience in using ERP/PLM system for BOM, Routings, Item master creation etc 9. Shall be familiar with Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools. Facilitate Continuous Improvement Activities. Assist in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and help lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) & Control Plans10. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate across levels and within a complex matrix organization11. The candidate shall have very strong project management, interpersonal and leadership skills. There shall always be a high sense urgency and ability to manage multiple conflicting objectives 12. The candidate shall be highly energetic and passionate with positive attitude. He shall be able to explain clearly business drivers and organizational objectives to production associates and supervisors 913. The candidate shall have proven track record of dealing with cross functional teams (engineering, sourcing, projects, field services, suppliers and equipment manufacturers) including global stake holders14. The candidate be a strong decision maker with willingness to stretch limits of self as well as team as per business needs15. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position16. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlinesDesired CharacteristicsDesired CharacteristicsThe Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for shop layout, equipment selection, process planning, setting up/ commissioning of manufacturing, assembly & testing facility for X-ray and High voltage assembly product portfolio Shall have strong expertise in preparation of equipment/utilities specifications & Budget forecastingWork closely with global Manufacturing engineering team and sharing knowledge transfer for shop floor layout, equipment selection, installation & commissioning and setting it up for serial production This role also requires working closely with cross functional teams including plant operations, sourcing, engineering, project management, equipment suppliers and suppliersShall actively participate in supplier selection, equipment design review & price negotiationShall develop/ maintain manufacturing methods, operating standards and create process routings and also manage regular process audits and process capability studies.Build and execute on the development plans to ensure talent upgrade of production associates, production team leaders and supervisorsAnalyze the talent needs in manufacturing line and ensure quick hiring of required talent Identifying requirements and implementing new tooling, fixtures & machines with Poka Yoke. Experience in Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing and value stream mapping will be added advantage. Exposure to High Vacuum technologies, Furnace operations, Baking and evening process and chemical processing are desirable
