Job Details

Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesA. StrategicResponsible for implementation of defined policies& procedure related with inventory management and accounting.Coordinate with supply chain team to help maintain stock in line with defined inventory levels to minimise inventory obsolescence/ damage/ expiry& stock out situations and reduce blockage of working capital.Perform monthly and quarterly procedures to ensure timely and accurate closing of the inventory sub-ledgers, including reconciliations, journal entries, and review of exceptional reporting items.Provide data analytics on various inventory transactions and posting errors including adjustments, variances and transfers.Undertake periodic & surprise stock count of various inventory items as per the defined guidelines.B. OperationalWork in close coordination with other accounting teams to ensure that all product costs are properly accounted and booked in the cost of sales and inventory cost.Ensures that goods received are matched with the actual invoices from the suppliers and are correctly booked in SAP.Preparation of all inventory related information, including inventory costing/ valuation, etc., for preparation and finalisation of financial statements.Assist with month end closing-variances analysis, inventory reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.Create well-defined and detailed reporting of gross margin and inventory balances for use in validating results, preparing variance explanations, and conducting trend analysis.Responsible to verify and review accuracy of inventory transactions and overall levels.Undertake stock count exercise in line with defined policy, analyse variances and report the same to relevant stakeholders.Assist finance controller in calculating inventory provisions at quarter/ year end.Perform year end stock taking exercise to identify excess and obsolete inventory items.Coordinate with production team to ensure work orders are timely closed in SAP after shipment of goods.Coordinate with IT and production team to resolves SAP process issues and assists warehouse/plant personnel with inventory transactions in the system.Perform validity checks before posting inventory adjustments entries submitted by the region.Co-ordinate with plant/warehouse for daily inventory transfers to other warehouse/ customer depots & locations.Support to operation team on processing of vendor payments and duty payments Monitor and analyse deviation in inventory price and report the findings to finance controller.Responsible for managing fixed assets register including its approval, capitalisation and depreciation as per IGAAP, USGAAP and Income Tax.C. Reporting/ MonitoringResponsible for the month end closing process and reconciliation of the ledgers.Create period end provisions/ write-offfor inventory.Circulate MIS and performs reason analysis for production/ consumption and wastage.Provide month end intercompany profit elimination report to global team.Ensure timely completion of files and documentation in compliance with company SOPsand accepted accounting requirements.Responsible for monitoring and compiling of GL review and reconciliation post month end reportingKey Performance Indicators1. Quantitative parametersCompleting month end closing activities in time.Review and reconcile all inventories on monthly basis.No of trainings (technical/ soft skills) attended to attain/ upgrade skill sets.No of deviations highlighted in Statutory/ internal/ compliance audits.2. Qualitative parametersCompliance with company policy/ SOPs.Support given to audit/ compliance team.
Degree: CA (Chartered Accountant)
