Job descriptionThis position is part project management, part technology operations and part general management. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and integrate cross-functional IT projects that are significant in scope and impact.The core elements of the job are about organising people and time resources and seeing the project through from inception to completion on a macro level. Make sure the core functions of the team are carried out successfully and projects are reported to the top management on a timely manner.Work activities & responsibilityAssist project manager to scope project requirementsGuiding and performing strategic analysis for the projectInterpreting the needs of the client and be a bridge between the development team and the client.In depth software technical knowledge to educate clients on technically non-achievable tasksConduct calls and discussions between the software development team and the clientAuthorizing development project plans, goals, and budgets; identifying resources neededInvolve in discussions with key stake holders from the clientInvolve in daily standup and scrum calls on critical projectsHave timely meetings with project managers in various phases of the project to ensure on-time completion; Ensure budget is available for the projectsRequired SkillsProven work experience in managing software development projectsExcellent client facing and internal communication skillsProven track record of leading teams and delivering quality software solutionsCredible and extensive ability to motivate teams and individualsGood communication (Verbal & Email)Excellent judgement for escalation scenariosExcellent Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are compulsoryPerformance ManagementPerform risk management to minimize project risksPerform appraisals to the team membersEnsure timely completion of regular project reviews.Act as an escalation point for any disagreements or disputes.Identify areas of improvement within the team and come up with corrective and preventive action.ReportingReport and escalate to top management when neededResponsible for designing and maintaining accurate internal and external reports.Report to management on a weekly basis on the project status, staffing and upcoming requirements.
