This role is part of a Investment Accounting function located in the US and India. The purpose of this position is to perform daily investment accounting activities relating to the retails, life and collective trust funds The role will also require collaboration with the Reconciliation Team in India, accounting counterparts based in the US as well as custodians and business partners from other departments.Responsibilities Responsible for the accurate calculation and reporting of public and collective fund net asset values and life fund accumulation unit values. Provide coverage as needed. It also requires a basic understanding of the mutual fund concepts and specific fund characteristics/attributes. Perform the daily accounting and reconciliation of fund activity including shareholder activity, fund expenses, fund distributions, reconciling the NAV/AUV, reviewing security trades including derivatives and reconciling cash transactions. Prepare monthly reports and follow balancing procedures on custodian reconciliations, fixed expense analysis and statement reconciliations. Analytical review and problem solving for the fund. Verify accuracy of trade input and impacts to fund. Analyze daily income accruals and interest/ dividend payments. Review fund distributions. Communicate with transfer agents, custodians and other departments as needed. Ensure all identified issues are thoroughly researched and escalated/communicated timely to all impacted parties. Work with internal and external auditors during fund audits.Finance / Accounting qualification. Knowledge of / experience in investment accounting. Must have strong system skills viz. MS Office and main frame system. Must have Good Communication, Interpersonal Skills and be an Effective Team Player. Must have Excellent Problem Solving and Analytical Skills. High standards for accuracy and attention to detail. Must have Sound Written / Oral Communication Skills.Preferred Qualifications MBA . Fund accounting experience. Positive, team-work attitude. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams. Outstanding organizational skills.
