BD&L is one of the key functions in Sandoz US for portfolio growth with direct impact on net sales each year from new deals and per year from existing partnerships. The Associate Director, BD&L is responsible for identifying and evaluating potential strategic business partners, acquisition tar-gets and new licensing opportunities from India, for the US market. He/she will assess market conditions and research other company strategies and culture to advance the business. Identify trends and strategic opportunities.Major Accountabilities Participate and manage negotiations with partners and work across internal cross- functional teams. Work with the Executive Director to present business cases to senior management in the US. Identify new opportunities for licensing and co-development partnerships and seek potential partners for Sandoz. Support negotiation of Term Sheets and Definitive Agreement, provide analytical support and prepare business case. Support due-diligence teams and ensure compliance/QA review is performed in line with the established process. Develop and seek approval for new Business Development opportunities. Evaluate, review and provide input regarding major proposals and their impact on the organization. Implement the established programs, processes and report improvements or additions. Interface cross-functional teams within the company to ensure that the function is anticipating and meeting internal and external needs and structured to produce effective strategies/reports. Manage existing and potential BD&L partners and internal stakeholders either directly or indirectly. Manage resources, both internal and outside contractors/vendors, with similar technical or functional responsibilities. Responsible for implementing operational and strategic policies and directives. Develop functional processes for area managed. Interface with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs. Work with the Executive Director towards timely closure of CARs (Capital Appropriation Re-quests) including ROI/CFROI assessment of the projects Work with the Executive Director to close BD&L deals Support local M&A activities where applicable Extend alliance management support, until smooth transition to the project implementation phase. Analysis / Insights of Industry landscape including regional Regulatory pathways, that may directly / indirectly impact the business deals for the US market Key Performance Indicators Number and value of new partners added to Sandoz BD&L network Maintaining and adding new strategic partners Number and value of successfully executed BD&L deals across the identified financial metrics Active participation and influence key deal terms and structure High quality delivery and timely submission of deal presentations and project updates Clarity of recommendations on go / no go decisions on Partners and deals Adherence to Sandoz Compliance norms and Values and Behaviors criteria Alignment with cross-function internal and external stakeholders and ability to work in a matrix organizational structure Support new initiatives of Sandoz Ability to cover all aspects of legal, statutory and commercial compliance at the right stage of deal creation to ensure efficient use of resources MS Office skills (especially Advanced Excel and PowerPoint).
Degree: MBA/ PGDM
