Job Details

JES, initiators, started tasks, jobs and related concepts. Major sub-systems CICS, DB2, IMS, DFSMS, VSAM, TCP/IP and MQ. z/OS and typical library organization, linklists, SMF data and related concepts. Should be able to support mainframe critical batch & should be able to resolve production issues in a timely manner. Storage concepts DFSMS, DFHSM, VSAM, tape subsystem, class based storage management, tiered storage and related tools and concepts is a plus. Workload manager (WLM), Automation (OPSMVS) and performance (Omegamon), Mainframe DR, XRC / Global Mirror is a plus Knowledge of omvs, Unix system services on MF is a plus Version management (ChangeMan), Batch Environment (Jobtrac), Problem determination tools (IBM PDT / CA tools suite), Data transfer (NDM / FTP), Security tools (RACF / ACF), Tape Management (CA-1), Omegamon, SyncSort, etc Programming languages COBOL, JCL, REXX Pacbase, Assembler is a plus Change management, service management processes. Experience in migration projects is a plus.Mainframe Technical Analyst/ System Engineer Expert Typically requires a Bachelor's and 5+ years of directly related experience. Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus extensive knowledge of other related fields. Extensive knowledge of programming and systems analysis and related applications. System Programming knowledge is a plus. Strong analytical/critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to prioritize effectively in a fast paced setting. Ability to handle customer needs successfully while following defined department processes and procedures. Interface between outsourcing vendor and Ameriprise for Mainframe system software and hardware maintenance and upgrades Find and implement Mainframe Online, batch and storage performance Optimization opportunities Develop Reporting as necessary to support analysis of mainframe issues and opportunities (DASD, TAPE, Batch Jobs, transactions) Support SOX reporting and testing Support ACF2 rule revalidation Prevent End of Life situations; ensure we have support from vendor Removal of old datasets (TSO, Uncataloged, Tape, etc) Ad-Hoc Issue Mgmt (issue review, remediation scheduling, change execution, etc) Address chronic incidents and problem states (long lasting, repeated incidents, etc)Data Collection, Tracking & Analysis Use a variety of data collection techniques and systems to collect technology operations performance data. Analyze to draw accurate conclusions regarding performance, trends and issues (current and/or potential). Monitor compliance with defined SLA/OLA. Monitor consumption/usage metrics to understand trends to assist in the effective management of vendor partners (as applicable). Perform trend analysis to identify cause of performance and/or usage issues.Continuous Improvement Work with application teams to determine the impact of application changes to the monitors configured for an application and determine if any changes or additions are required. Assist teams in identifying monitoring requirements and implementing the appropriate monitors to achieve the desired results. Use experience, expertise and data analysis to collaborate with manager and team members in the identification of corrective action to increase efficiency, improve performance and meet or exceed targets.experience in project execution role across the solution delivery life cycle (e.g. requirements, analysis, testing, and implementation). Demonstrated proficiency in assigned practice area (including general practice, methodology, tools and processes). Superior written and verbal communication skills; to include developing executive level presentations. Proven practice area leadership experience, including ability informally lead and mentor peers across the practice community. Effective at building and maintaining a resource network; demonstrated skills in building effective business consulting relationships. Work experience of Service Management tools, preferably ServiceNow Creation of dashboards and other reports of leadership awareness.Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to clearly and persuasively communicate ideas, issues and recommendations. Strong analytical ability with proven proficiency in synthesizing data into meaningful and digestible data points and actions. Strong attention to detail. Proven project management and problem solving skills.
