Job DescriptionIIHS is looking to hire a Course Coordinator to assist the coordinating team for the Urban Practitioners Programme (UPP). The position involves management, administration, monitoring and co-ordination of a cohort of UPP learners, staff and faculty through the complete lifecycle of courses planned through the year.Activities and TasksThe Course Coordinator shall support the work of the UPP team in planning, implementing, reviewing, and monitoring UPP courses and carry out all activities including but not restricted toPlanning and scheduling of course events including classroom sessions, outbound activities, assignments and all other related activities.Coordinating with and facilitating the work of all faculty members including in-house, adjunct/guest and other resource persons.Maintaining contact with and communicating regularly on all course-related, administrative and logistical matters with course participants/learners.Maintaining learner/participant academic records.Maintaining and supporting the use of key databases for learners and faculty.Assisting in organizing of all meetings, conferences, and events at IIHS.Compiling, as and when needed, reports and web material for use by learners and faculty.Preparing and compiling reports related to the status and progress of relevant courses/ academic programmes.Providing administrative and secretarial support to UPP team members and Faculty including organizing meetings, attending to/making phone calls, communicating using e-mail and fax etc.Assisting in planning for and procuring stationery, learning material and other resources in coordination with IIHS Operations and Library units.Carrying out all other functions and activities as may be required from time to time, for the successful delivery of UPP programmes at IIHS.The Course Coordinator shall carry out the above activities under the supervision of and in close coordination with the UPP team members.This offer is on an exclusive basis, which implies that other professional assignments (whether compensated or not) that bear a potential conflict of interest with IIHS cannot be undertaken.Structure and ReportingThe Course Coordinator will report to the Head UPP at this time.Person SpecificationThe incumbent shall have a Bachelor s degree and shall have a minimum of five years work experience.The incumbent shall possess good spoken and written English communication skills, including online communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be a must; experience in using Project Management software shall be an added advantage.The candidate shall be able to demonstrate that s/he is team-player, has initiative and is able to independently plan and execute tasks in a timely manner. Further, the candidate will be able to deliver on deadlines in a systematic manner. While not mandatory, it is desirable that the person has had some exposure to working in an organization involved in training, education or people-intensive activities.The position requires good language skills in English, Kannada or Hindi. S/he should have excellent inter-personal skills, and should be comfortable in working with inter-disciplinary teams. This is a paid full time position with a competitive salary, located in Bangalore. The search will remain open until the position is filled.
