Job DescriptionTo act as a Head of Financial Control for the Centre of Excellence for Global Insurance through the stages of evolution- Develop strategy- Build teams and environment- Migrate and consolidate processes- Transform processes- Consistent delivery of processes in a controlled environment- Change managementThe individual will be responsible for overseeing all Financial Control processes for the Insurance Businesses that are conducted in the GFC including Operational Accounting, Financial Reporting and Regulatory ReportingPrincipal Accountabilities KPI and TargetsStrategyUnderstand global Insurance framework i.e. Process (Target Operating Model), Policies , Regulatory requirements, SystemsDevelop strategy to build and operate Insurance COE at GFC in line with the global requirementsBuilding capability Understand in-depth existing global Insurance processes for Financial Control and system / data flowUnderstand talent requirement to set up team structureAttract and hire talentDesign and enable training on global Insurance Financial Control processesMigrationsLead transition for Financial Control processes and set up of Insurance utility at GFC along the global Insurance Target Operating Model from a process and system standpointLead discussions with the in country and central teams on the plan and implementationProcess transformationIdentify opportunities for improvement and drive changes independentlyDrive change culture in the team and provide coaching as appropriateService Delivery Ensure service delivery of outputs reports as per the standards set out in agreed PLAsEnsure financial data integrity and completeness of financial statementesEnsure robust control environment and data integrityCo-ordinate, work-closely with in-country finance teams across the globeEnsure quality of output and commentaryRegular governance with the in country business partnerBuild relationships internally and externallyChange ManagementTake accountability for ensuring change / implementation in compliance with Group Standards and Regulations as well as relevant FIMsUnderstand the Global business requirements in line with regulatory changes and be able to effectively translate into functional requirementsWorking with / dependency on Insurance teams in various countries who are not under their direct controlWorking within a fast moving and demanding environment with significant regulatory changes and strict timelines Establish strong relationshipsestablish strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholdersLeadership & Teamwork To work effectively with varying levels of people in Finance Function, Programme work streams, PMO, IT as required.Ensure roles & tasks are clearly mapped and understood as relevant..Coach team to ensure performance metrics i.e. production produced in line with requirementsEnsure team is developed by undertaking a training needs analysis for each team member. Ensure personal development plans are in place covering product knowledge, technical and soft skillsCommunicate effectively with the team members and be a team playerReview the work of team members
