Supervises servers and bar persons, verifying that their workstations are stocked, neat and orderly. Ensures that the dining room / conference rooms are in a neat and orderly condition at all times. Provides customer with quality service by monitoring staff assignments and responsiveness. Liaise with kitchen to ensure timely service and highest standard of food and presentation is adhered to. Attention to hygiene and restaurant cleanliness. Implements new standards and procedures for the restaurant as and when required. Responsible for on the job training and orientation of all new employees. Ensures employees have appropriate level of training for required duties and with regard to safe practices using equipment. Ensures proper grooming, hygiene and prompt attendance of all employees as per rosters and counsel as and when required. Ensure that all assets within areas of work are maintained and secure at all times.Ensures the integrity of both cash and charge accounts. Ensures all approval for voids and any discrepancies are reported immediately and followed up in a timely manner. Provides accurate reports of operations for management as requested. Assists in conducting monthly stock takes. Responsible for cashiering during hours when rostered on and ensures correct accounting procedures are followed.Adheres to and ensures all line employees adhere to the hotel policies and procedures. Attends work on time as scheduled. Follows hotel grooming and dress standards. Minimises safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures.Handle guest complaints and keeps Assistant Restaurant Manager informed of relevant complaints. Is involved in the strategic planning and direction of the restaurant, mini bar and room service departments. Takes part in creative planning of promotional events. Involvement in menu planning and development of Wine lists.Keeps Manager fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position. Maintains a favourable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working environment.
