Key Challenges for the role An investor relation is a fledgling role for an insurer which is not yet listed. It is ducate the research analysts in understanding the Life Insurance sector and KPIs that impact the industry. Strong knowledge of financial/ valuation concepts specific to insurance sector is imperative to be able to perform effectively in this role. Also, ability to achieve proficiency in business and actuarial concept is the key for being able to effectively communicate to analyst/investors. Ability to strategize,conceptualizepresentation and communication material for analysts /investors. Hence, excellent communication skills to be able to communicate clearly the growth story for the company and industry as a whole. Also, insurance companies have also started focusing on analytics Hence, the Senior analyst is expected to have expertise in business as well as technical areas to effectively implement and maintain oversight of analytics program. Also, given the new role of analytics across the industry, there is a need to nuture predictive analytics talent and the senior analyst is expected to have managerial skills to ensure development and retention of new talents in this area. Finalizing the infrastructure, tools and measuring the effectiveness of analytics can be challenge at times To drive/support multiple and cross-functional projects from time to time. Availability of critical information required for competitor benchmarking is always a challengeespecially related to distribution, product and certain non-financial parameter,Need to effectively use public and market information including. develop and foster relationships within the industry and the companyto supervise the competititor benchmarking 4) Principal Accountabilities Accountability Supporting Actions Lead preparation & roll out of Annual Operating Plan & five year strategic plan for the respective Sales channel in line with the shareholder objectives 1. Lead & Coordinate the Business Planning exercise for the respective channels (TPD/Group) and their support functions 2. Negotiate and build consensus with Channel to ensure budgets are in line with company objectives 3. Develop credible competitive intelligence for the channel to build strategic/ tactical initiatives during the plan 4. Build in necessary controls in the planning process for the channel. 5. Educate channels on their plan assumptions basis actual experience and projected changes in business models Setting-up and Driving business analytics modelling to increase revenue and improve overall health parameters 1. Oversee & lead the development of predictive analytics program for various business areas 2. Supporting the senior management in finalizing the right infrastructure model for predictive analytics to maximize the ROI principle 3. Setting-up a governance structure and responsibility to regularly update the management on on-going analytics initiatives/ campaigns 4. Creating the right team in analytics cell to help leverage both business and statistical knowledge to develop in-house capabilities Timely & accurate Management reporting to Sales and Top management so as to aid in strategic decision making 1. Review processes to ensure the accuracy & timeliness of financial / non financial management reporting. 2. Review & share the performance drivers of the sales channel & work jointly with them in order to achieve the sales targets. 3. Timely reporting of the channel s key performance business drivers. 4. Guide team members in developing various new dashboards which will present the channel KPIs in more relevant way Conduct financial feasibility of the channel level initiatives including compensation and R&R so as to align it with plan Evaluate financial viability of the initiatives proposed by the channel. 2. Recommend the alternatives so as to bring out a balance between financial and business objectives Implementing the Investor relations program & Monitoring Industry research 1. Manage & ensure effective implementation of the IR program by creation of investor presentation& event-based communication material. 2. Conceptualize and communicate such as MD&A, Directors report, competitive strengths & companys strategy to the outside world. 3. Support management participating in conferences/earnings conference calls 4. Regularly interacting with the analysts to increase BSLI coverage and supervise analyst coverage across sector Supervise finalizing KPIs to be used in conference calls with analysts/investors on a quarterly basis. Use of business/ valuation concepts to sell value creation framework such as EV/AV etc to outsiders 5. Monitor industry level research and supporting industry level discussion for senior managment Competitors benchmarking & Strategy 1. Take the lead in driving a comprehensive competitive analysis framework and reports, including financial and non-financial parameters 2. Communicating with various insiders/outsiders to build market intelligence capabilities 3. Ensure smooth delivery of quarterly benchmarking reports 4. Take the lead in implementation of monthly competitive intelligence framework People Enrichment 1. Optimize Employee Talent and Expertise. 2. Motivate the team and maintain employee satisfaction at optimal levels. 5) Job Purpose of Direct Reports Asst. Mgr Business & Marketing Analytics The role is responsible for Development of Analytical models and assisting other functions in program implementation and development of requisite infrastructure and processes. It is also responsible to strengthen competition intelligence within the company and manage competition benchmarking against various KPIs and implement special/adhoc projects Deputy Manager Channel Analyst - CABC Support in finalisation and roll-out of strategic and operating plan for the Channel and consolidating overall financial plan. This is followed by regularly assessing and monitoring channels performance across various KPI s and supporting channels new initiatives. Sr. Executive - Channel Analyst Support in finalisation and roll-out of strategic and operating plan for the Channel and consolidating overall financial plan. This is followed by regularly assessing and monitoring channel s performance across various KPIs, developing dashboards for senior management and timely reporting so as to aid the management in strategic decision making process. The job also requires creating a framework for regular interaction between the channel and planning team to highlight the performance issues wherever correction is required & directly supporting the team and function in their new initiatives Executive Trainee IR & Competitive Intelligence The role is responsible to support in effective implementation of IR program by creation of investor presentation & event-based communication material.
