Reporting to the Managing Director (MD), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Sales, Marketing, Commercial and Supply Chain functions within our client organisation.As the COO, the incumbent will provide leadership to the strategic planning process and will implement new initiatives to achieve budgeted goals.In addition, the COO will provide direction to the senior management team and work with the Managing Director to keep them abreast oneconomic and business challenges.The COO will partner with the MD and her/his peers, other senior stake holders in the system and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the operational aspects of the annual budget hence ensuring that there is delivery as far as top-line and bottom-line numbers are concerned.ResponsibilitiesProgram Operational LeadershipProvide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all business activities, developing a broad and deep knowledge of allactivities.Identify opportunities for Our Clientto leverage its operationalstrengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address variousorganizational challenges.Lead, coach, develop, and retainOur Client s high-performance senior management team with an emphasis on developing capacity in strategic analysis and planning and program budgeting.Develop and implement trainingand learning programs and retreatsso as to expand theoverall competence of all staff.Prepare and submit an annual operational budget, manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.Ensure the continued financial viability ofOur Client s operational units through sound fiscal management.External Relationship DevelopmentManage and cultivate existing relationships with key stakeholders (internal as well as external)to secure and expand recurring revenue streams.Publicly represent Our Clientwith the media (if necessary)and external groups including community, governmental, and private organizations and build adequate leveragefor Our Client.Strategic Plan ImplementationProvide pragmaticleadership and inputs for all strategicand tactical plan implementation processes.Coachthe leadership team as they implement the strategic plan and transition program operations.Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on the progress of the strategic plan implementation.Qualifications and Other skills neededThis is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual with extensivesales management, commercial and supply-chain managementexperience to grow and further develop an organisation that has already made significant impact.The successful candidate will partner with theMD and work collaboratively with a high-performance management team.Specific requirements includeA Graduate degree witha post-graduation in Management (preferred, though not necessary)At least the immediate last 7 to 9years of experience ina P&Lmanagement role.Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach a senior-level staff to manage and develop high-performance teams and develop and implement program strategies.Deep experience in budgeting and fiscal management.Analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate tothe staffabout the key objectives and tactics necessary to achieve organizational goals.Ability to point to specific examples of having led organizational transformation projects and program development.Past experience managing human resources function including personnel, compensation, and recruitingmay be an advantage.Unwavering commitment to quality and data-driven evaluation.Ability to engage across a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills.Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to operational management.Passion, humility, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
