The Global Ops Tax Team is a component of the Global Ops Pudong organisation. The team is in charge to provide Tax services to the legal entities operated by the GE affiliates across the Asia countries in contact with the local/regional business controllership teams and the local corporate tax teams.Essential ResponsibilitiesServices are governed by the GE S&T Enterprise Standards and GE Map 20.30. Services scope include filing annual local legal entities Statutory accounts (from Stat filing planning to board meeting and filing to the local regulators including KPMG audit where necessary) and preparing local tax returns (CIT, VAT and other local Taxes) under the strict control of the corporate tax team. Support local corporate tax teams with regard to tax compliance work and be the interface between finance teams in India and local corporate tax team regarding o collection, preparation and analysis of financial data, legal documents and other relevant information requiredfor local tax return filings for local tax audits under other statutory and/or regulatory rules Ensuring accuracy & adequacy of business' tax reporting processes by evaluating relevant policies and procedures Quarterly closing Reviews tax provisions, ensure completion and review of tax accounting and reconciliations Compile information required to draft statutory disclosures, co-ordinate completion of tax disclosures, co-ordinate statutory audit and resolve queries raised Gathering relevant financial information to calculate and ensure relevant intra group pricing of products and services compliance with GEs Transfer Pricing policies. Preparation and booking of tax balance sheets for local tax purposes and deferred tax purposes. Ability to review tax provisioning schedules/models Liaise with the Corporate tax teams to ensure compliance with local regulations and support in case of an audit. To lead/participate in ad hoc team projectsQualifications/Requirements Bachelor s degree in accounting or equivalent Written and verbal fluency in English Minimum of 7 years work experience or in similar capacity in a Global Business / Shared Service Center, MNC or auditing firm in a compliance focus role Strong expertise in tax processes and compliance Good working knowledge in a multinational environment Good knowledge and experience in tax accounting concepts such as ASC740, and deferred taxes Good communication proven ability to develop strong professional relationship with auditors, corporate tax Strong analytical skills & ability to technically discuss with local/regional business controllers, country Stat & Tax leader, local Corporate CIT Leaders and KPMG/auditors where necessary, Flexible approach with a strong team spirit Effective interpersonal skills and highly professional style when dealing with business clients Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metricsDesired Characteristics Knowledgeable of accounting systems Knowledgeable of intermediate to advance MS Excel and Access are required skills
