Purpose of roleThe main purpose of this job is to support Sr. Manager Audit, Controls & Compliance in managing the control agenda for Castrol India and related group entities. The Dy Manager Audit & Controls reports to the Sr. Manager Audit, Controls & Compliance, Castrol India limited who in turn reports to the General Manager- Finance & Accounts, Castrol India Limited. This structure is consistent with establishing a clear line of sight for control activities through the organization. The Lubricants Strategic Business has defined and shaped its strategy going forward with a vision of being the undisputed leader in the global lubricants market . Castrol India Limited (CIL) is the second largest business within the Lubricants SPU and offers one of the most exciting long term growth opportunities for the Lubricants SPU. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) for CIL in 2014 was c. Rs.726cr. The strong growth track record is reflected in the c. 14% CAGR in PBT over last 6 yrs. The companys Market Capitalization is over Rs.23000 cr. Being a listed entity, there are several additional statutory and regulatory requirements. The Finance function in CIL has c. 80 staff which is the highest across the Lubes SPU, thereby demonstrating the complexity of the finance operations in CIL.4. Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role Support in delivery of the annual in house internal audit plan approved by the Audit Committee. Support in management and maintenance of Agents related compliance requirements as per BP groupFinance Manager CILGeneral Manager Finance and Accounts CILSr Manager Audit and ControlManager Audit and ControlsDy Manager Auditrequirements from time to time. Maintain and Testing of internal controls as per the Control Evaluation Templates to support assertions on internal financial controls on ongoing basis. Assist in preparation of the quarterly assertions to the board on internal controls, follow up on open internal Audit observations. Drive continuous monitoring of internal control activities ( e.g. JDE user Access Management, mitigations testing of SOD violations). Minimum Control Expectations as laid down from time to time. To update and maintain database/repository of all policies, processes, risks etc. To assist in updating of CILs Business Management Framework on a regular basis. To create/use various tools to carry out above activities in an efficient manner Support in Ethic andcompliance activities around tracking trainings and related documentation management.5. Key challenges faced on the roleThe key challenges / critical success factors to enable delivery of the role objectives are Knowledge of SOX, COSO, COBIT etc. Testing of internal controls in line with established testing principles Operating experience in analysing and delivering internal control activities in a time bound manner Ensuring integrity of data collated and submitted A track record in successfully working with business process owners to deliver compliances to requirements. To be a team player, self-starter (i.e. ability to take initiative, proactively work on control activities and identify actions to be taken on gaps identified in control activities performed. Ability to manage multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong track record of delivery/execution.6. Any Other Relevant Information (Particular reference to planning (nature and impact), scope ofimpact (Team, BU, Segment, BP globally etc.)This role has deliverables directly impacting the Compliance requirements , for internal control assertion submissions for Castrol India Ltd. and within BP and regulatory compliances under the companies act and Local stock exchange requirements.7. Experience & Expertise (mandatory & desired)Educational background Ideally 3 - 4 years post CA qualification and associated with accounting, finance, control, Audit activities. Knowledge of ERM, SOX, IFRS, etc. is desirable.8. Economic dimensions associated with role (if any)This role is a key enabler and driver for supporting compliance assertions, for the CEO / CFO, around internal controls for design and operating effectiveness, under various local entities regulations in the companies Act and Clause 49 requirements.There is very sensitive role and time bound execution to support assertions.9.
