The responsibility of this role is to provide desktop support services for GTI Supported lines of business clients in potential multiple. The standard work week will be 40 hours, with weekends and additional hours as required. Duties include Performs all desktop support services including Button break/fix, EURC requests, asset management, and BAU duties as assigned Ensuring all support issues are resolved in a timely fashion Effective Vulcan queue and ticket management Effective utilization of collaboration tools (i.e. Instant Messaging, Outlook, etc.) Communicate with clients and follow-up on all open and pending tickets Escalating incidents to regional resources where necessary Identifying persistent problems, escalates when needed and document solutions Leading & participating in LOB project rollouts, moves co-ordination, technology upgrades, new installations, building power-down, disaster recovery, service improvement, control and cost initiativesMin. 5 years experience in an Desktop IT support roleMinimum of 1-3 years experience on VDI platforms a plusWindows XP / 7 platform support skills (preferably to MCP level)Ability to work unsupervised and prioritize workloadsNovell/Netware administration tools knowledgeMS Office 2007 / 2010 suite knowledgeInternet browsers (IE, Firefox and Safari)Thorough understanding of network connectivity and latency impactProven track record in a desktop technical support environmentStrong communication skills; Excellent English (Written and spoken)Excellent inter-personal and liaison skillsComfortable in dealing with clients over the phone and 1 to 1, especially in critical situationsClear and precise requests updated and feedback passed to teamStrong problem solving abilityIs understanding of and sympathetic to client requirementsAppreciates the potential business and technological impacts of issuesPDA implementation and troubleshooting
Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering)
