It is responsible for defining the short and long term learning need alaysis, content development, Delivery & education strategies for the Retail Organization, that support the business objectives.From technical training to professional development activities, this position will be responsible for incorporating key principles of education of the Retail Store staff, to effectively design and implement consistent training programs and materials aligning with the Business vision and core values. Additionally, this position will develop functional academies to build functional expertise within the businesses.With the rapid growth of retail, the scale of operations has been increasing exponentially. Especially sub-functions like induction, on-boarding, training, certification, promotions, assessments etc. need to be managed with high operational efficiency. Hence the position will be responsible to drive the followingProviding Vision & StrategyCreate a training and development strategy, vision and action plan to implement dynamic learning systems contributing to the success of the organization.Manage the integration, implementation and operation of MFLs, PFRLs, ABRLs learning management systems to create a central repository for all training and development data, and capture data on an individual basis to identify specific strengths and needs for individuals.Assessing the Training & Development NeedsWork with business Heads / Department Heads / Format Heads / Brand Heads to identify specific training needs within each department and facility.Design and implement effective training options to bridge workforce gaps. Evaluate and monitor the development and effectiveness of these programs.Establish a competency model that details the core values of the business, provides a foundation for the career development program and becomes the common language linking the performance management, succession management and leadership development programs.Identify current and future training needs.Design and implement effective training programs, aids and materials utilizing knowledge of methods in classroom training, e-learning, on-the-job training, and self-study.Provide guidance regarding training and development practices, policies, and procedures to department heads.Consult with and advise businesses on strategies to develop and evaluate various training interventions.Research & Best Practice ImplementationCarry out regular research and development initiatives to ensure company programs meet or exceed contemporary industry training standards and delivery innovations.Act as primary liaison with academia and professional organizations that validate, accredit and certify company education and training programs as needed.Infrastructure DevelopmentDevelop and deliver the infrastructure to support all training and development.Develop the infrastructure for all training and development programs by establishing standardized methods and procedures for delivery, evaluation, measurement and reporting.Delivery of Training and Learning eventsPlan, direct, and coordinate learning objectives and instructional design strategies; including developing the best methodologies for training delivery (i.e. web-based, classroom, etc.Select and monitor internal and external trainers and vendors to deliver consistent training programs and services.)Responsible for maintaining coordination of training programs with succession management, certification and leadership development programs; responsible for overseeing the succession management program and certification program.Design and Development of Functional AcademiesPlan, design and create Functional Expertise Building Academies to strengthen the talent pool within the Businesses. Plan tie ups and partnerships with expert organizations that can help create in house expertise in functions likeDesign*VM Creative Art / VisualizingAgri based skills for the Staples and Fresh Team Bakery Dairy and FrozenReporting & MonitoringManages financial aspects of ABCRE and training including ROI of programs in meeting or exceeding budget standards. Measures, documents and reports on ROI assessments on learning initiatives.Establish effective method of tracking participant training and course offeringsDevelop, maintain and distribute status learning and development reports as needed.Direct ReportsFollowing positions report into the PositionChief Curator - Partner with Line, Business Managers, COEs, Consultants, Education Institutes to conceptualize learning needsDesign Factory Head - Lead & manage Design Factory Team to develop content.Partner with Program Managers Learning Delivery Head - Manage the team of Learning Delivery Trainers to ensure effective training delivery
Degree: MBA/ PGDM
