Description POSITION SUMMARY & JOB DESCRIPTIONAs Director of Test Engineering within Visa DMPD you will manage multiple QA teams in the development, test, and deployment of complex solutions that process millions of transactions per day worldwide. You will identify, hire and build a world-class team of Test Engineers and Managers to define, drive and execute the team vision. You will design and initiate processes that allow the team to collaborate with local as well as global teams with a high degree of efficiency. You will lead a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Project Managers, Product Managers and Developers across the company on this high impact initiative. The program directors have a strong sense of ownership and take pride in the components or domains they are responsible for. We are looking for experienced people managers with deep technical expertise to interact with business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for execution and delivery of one or more DMPD product lines- Manage teams with engineers, leads, and managers- Manage local and remote teams using matrix organizational structures- Partner with peers in Test Engineering and Development in rolling out initiatives- Set clear and aligned goals and direction for the team- Review and manage configurations, builds, branching, and deployment issues- Partner with product and development managers on feature and release prioritization- Participate in feature grooming and sprint planning sessions- Passionate about dashboards, metrics, test automation, and product improvement- Initiate and roll out innovations to continuously improve quality assurance and delivery- Drive root cause analysis and track defect resolution and verification to completion- Manage HR and Performance aspects of employees- Communicate status frequently in executive leadership and program update meetings- Mentor, coach, and guide engineers and new managers- Proactively engage in career management and development of direct reportsQualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelors in Science or Engineering; MS/MBA is a plus- Experienced in mission-critical web and mobile payment or related high transaction systems- 12+ years relevant work experience with half or more in leadership- Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain high-caliber talent at scale- Experienced in organizing, running, supporting, and growing large technology organization- Experience with development, build, testing and continuous integration tools- Technical with hands on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks for backend concurrent engineering, web development, APIs and mobile development and deployment on diverse platforms- Strong cross-browser and cross-device test implementation experience- Deep knowledge of web services standards and related technologies (XML, SOAP, REST)- Experience with tools like Rally, JIRA, Sharepoint, wiki, etc- Knowledge of mobile (Android, iOS) test tools and technologies- Experienced with Agile development methodology- Capable of forming and advocating independent viewpoint- Demonstrate strong skills influencing, negotiating and communicating
Degree: MBA/ PGDM
