The IT Manager is accountable for identifying and delivering bottom line value to the business through both the implementation of innovative new IT solutions and harvesting of existing IT assets to enable the achievement of the business strategy, value drivers and KPIs.Dimensions The Marine IT Manager East manages an investment budget of between ~$2M and has no direct reports. However, they will be responsible for leading the Project Steering Teams, application portfolio reviews, problem resolution and any other current initiatives. The IT Manager in the East faces off to the Marine GM and leadership team together with the VP Lubricants Asia Pacific and Country/Cluster GMs.The Marine business supplies lubricants and technical support services to the international marine industry in over 500 ports across 47 countries. The Lubricants Asia Pacific business supplies lubricants and greases to private and commercial transport and industrial sectors through direct and indirect channels, covering clusters of China/HongKong, India, Indonesia, Southeast Asia and Australia. Shell is the leading international lubricants supplier in China, the world's second largest and rapidly growing lubricants market.RequirementsAccountabilities Accountable for components of the IT Strategic Plan working with the business and IT leaders to ensure that decisions take into account the full lifecycle of the portfolio optimizing investments, operational costs to drive business value.Understand Business strategy, Business processes and information needs in order to exploit IT and deliver value.Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and influence how IT and the business can align strategic goals.Work with business and IT partners to define business and IT performance metrics, and measure, track and report on benefits realization.Develop talent within through coaching and providing development opportunities to attract new staff.Support Continuous Improvement agenda covering data quality, MI and process improvement opportunities.End to end accountability for all aspects of IT and IM to the business, including escalation point for operational and delivery issues.Special Challenges Chinese language skills and/or previous working experience with China is an advantageSkills & Experience Required A commercial mindset coupled with a strong interest in the businessAbility to shape and translate a technology enabled vision into delivery of successful business outcomesGravitas and excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to engage and influence up to senior executive level in a complex organizationAbility to build strong collaborative partnerships with senior business stakeholdersAbility to build and lead high performing IT natural teams aligned around driving greater business valueResilience, courage and the willingness to challenge and manage business expectationsExperience in developing business cases and in managing IT budgets through the IT demand management and planning process. This position will be suited to candidates who have been operating in corporate IT for between 5 - 7 years with prior IT management experience.
