Position : Electrical Inspector ( Vendor Site)
Reports to: Functionally to QA/QC Coordinator/TPI Coordinator and hierarchically to Project / Asset Quality Leads
Duties and Responsibilities
Comply with Company HSE standards and lifesaving rules. Reinforce the Company HSE requirements to the colleagues / Vendors / Construction Contractors.
Witness and monitor Vendors / Construction Contractors work activities, inspection and test in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures and method statements etc.
Assist review of Construction Contractor quality control plans / ITPs and Procedures / method statements and all pertained QA/QC documentation prior to commencement of any construction work.
Verify the implementation of PTW (permit to work) and other safety procedures.
Verify field installation, test/ pre-commissioning procedures and commissioning plans.
Ensure Vendors /Construction Contractors have relevant codes, standards, specifications and drawings.
Review original material / test certificate for compliances to codes and specifications.
Ensure testing, measuring equipment is fully calibrated per specification and has current certification.
Witness in-process inspections per ITP and Inspection Requests, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) as required. Progressively review Vendor’s / Construction Contractor’s quality record.
Attend Mechanical Completion / Pre-commissioning final walk-down and sign on behalf of Company.
Provide feedback on Vendor / Construction Contractor’s performance.
Degree In Electrical Engineering or appropriate craft training and trade certificate as a minimum with Ex certification.
8+ years experience in inspection, out of which 2 years shall be gained in onshore Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries.
Have knowledge of industrial codes (NEC, CEC, IEC, IEE, UL, NFPA, ISO 9001, etc.).
Experience of working to and fully conversant with CoPs, PRs, SPs, GUs (documents), including Shell DEPs.
Understanding of FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test) and Equipment Preservation Requirements.
Able to review and approve EPC's Quality Plan, ITP and Quality Procedure
Have knowledge of various type of cable, its application, and installation / test requirements.
