Job Details

Designs, builds, and integrates applications and platforms to support Intel's business needs. Responsible for application packaging deployment that meets IT standards. Responsible for understanding various client and/or server architectural blueprints, operating system build technologies, system patching, system management auditing; automation, as well as server build processes. Designs and appropriately builds out all environments, which includes use of external application landing zones (DMZ), Network Load Balancing (NLB), Storage Area Networks (SAN), Microsoft OS and SQL clusters, and data encryption. Provides these services on both internal and externally facing applications, and interacts with customers, IT partners, system architects, product managers, design engineers, service and support teams, and other system users who require input regarding their planned or existing system.QualificationsWe are starting up a new team of System Engineers that will provide operational support to clients' servers, applications, and network systems for Enterprise Collaboration Portfolio and Employee Computing Platforms applications such as Citrix, Cloud Print, Small Form Factor devices, SharePoint, Social Collaboration (Inside Blue, Web Cast Ask Vote Answer, Intel Video Portal, Wiki) and Circuit Portal. Along with daily client infrastructure maintenance (KTBR), you'll be required to provide Level 2 application expertise to end users for some of these applications. Key Responsibilities a)Operate, maintain and administer information technology solutions that contribute to the operational efficiency, availability and visibility of customer infrastructure. b)Plan and execute maintenance, scheduled tasks and follow procedural documentation. c)Customer orientation - ability to listen, clearly communicate and deliver results that excel at customer satisfaction. d)Observe and provide feedback on the current state of the client's infrastructure, and identify opportunities to improve security and resiliency, reduce the occurrence of incidents and automate repetitive administrative and operational tasks. e)Contribute to, improve and maintain team documentation about client systems and infrastructure, procedures, policies and schedules. f)Work proactively across the company to ensure Intel's managed hosting infrastructure is never a constraint for its customers or any aspect of the company. g)Good stakeholder management and influencing skills to negotiate and deliver within timelines h)Gather and document information about client environments through audit activities, and analyze the information to identify opportunities for improvement and application of best practices. i)Work collaboratively with team mates to contribute to the continuous improvement of our working culture. j)Must be able to participate in 12x7 incident response with occasional 24x7 on-call coverage as required. k)Work through follow-the-sun support model and disaster recovery plans with other groups and departments. l)Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. m)Due diligence and sense of urgency to resolve incidents and service requests. n)Ability to manage time, resources and cost effectively thru the execution of projects; report progress clearly and accurately at all time. Required Skills 1)BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. 2)Common Windows Server Linux installation, configuration and performance tuning. 3)Service Management effective incident and problem management that helps to minimize impact to the availability of the systems or reduce incidents. 4)Proactivity to identify potential issues and propose/deliver solutions. 5)Familiarity with Network Essentials basic TCP/IP networInside this Business GroupIntel's Information Technology Group (IT) designs, deploys and supports the information technology architecture and hardware/software applications for Intel. This includes the LAN, WAN, telephony, data centers, client PCs, backup and restore, and enterprise applications. IT is also responsible for e-Commerce development, data hosting and delivery of Web content and services.
