The GE Transportation International CIO will directly lead the regional IT operations teams in APAC, India and EMEA and provide local leadership in India for the GET IT teams supporting other global functions.Essential ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will translate concepts, develop strategy, implement change, create programs responsive to external environment, and participate in cross-functional business and cultural development. Serve as a key member of the senior-management team for GET APAC, India and EMEA regions Have presence externally in the region and be recognized as an expert in the region Determine region-wide information and technology needs, then define and lead implementation and maintenance strategies to meet those needs Responsible for improving IT operational excellence and controlling costs for these regions and teams Drive the prioritization, budgeting and resource planning of IT work to support business objectives and key initiatives for both the region and across the business unit Responsible for management activities including recruiting, development, performance management, compensation, organization and teaming Coordinate the long and short-range information system plans for designated functional organizations Lead the client organization in the effective and on-going integration, implementation and maintenance of information technology Be the local GET India leader for all of the GET IT teams both direct and indirect reports Select, train, develop, manage and lead employees Effectively monitor and control costs in the organization Assure quality products by providing leadership to the organization in total management quality techniques Collaborate and influence across the business, function, region and CompanyQualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering At least 8 additional years of managerial experience relating to system design and developmentDesired Characteristics Contemporary leadership and integrative team working style Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Executive level presentation skills Substantial computer systems knowledge Demonstrated ability to navigate the matrix and collaborate effectively with peers Global working experiences influencing senior leaders
Degree: MBA/ PGDM
