PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESSalesMotivate and coach sales team to achieve/exceed sales and promotional targets.Verify that the daily communication program of specific cruise itineraries reflects the promotional planner.Validate that sales team is strategically placed based on knowledge & skill sets in order to maximize sales.Train and coach the sales team to ask the guest open-ended questions, promote product value, create a desire to buy through the features and benefits of the merchandise, overcome objections, and close sales.Create awareness of all add-on items and verify that the sales team are utilizing add-on selling, cross-selling, and merchandise upgrading techniques.ServiceEnsure that the sales teamis perceived as approachable and friendly, through creative greetings, professional appearance, maintaining eye contact, and meeting and greeting each guest.Train and coach the sales team on establishing rapport through friendly conversations, interactions, active-listening skills, and making guests the priority.Train and coach the sales team on product knowledge, selling and customer service techniques.Anticipate each guest s needs and expectations to ensure an exceptional guest experience.Validate by observation that the sales associates are thanking each guest for visiting the store and giving them to a reason to return.Actively seek out guest feedback and lead the associates to exceed guestexpectations. Address all guest feedback according to established procedures in a professional and timely manner.Merchandise & VisualEnforce that all merchandise is received onboard according to Receiving policy and procedures.Inspect merchandise SKU s and prices for accuracy.Maintain and control inventory according to Receiving policy and procedures.Validate the sales team maintainsan organized warehouse storage area according to the Cruise Lines established safety guidelines.Support effective marketing of merchandise as directed by Corporate Office.Partner with the Visual team on merchandise placement, display maintenance, or to improve the visual direction.Educate the sales team on how to present a clean, neat and tidy store, according to Corporate Office Visual Merchandising Directives.Verify that the sales team maintainsan organized and fully replenished shop at all times. Loss PreventionDemonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions with guests and sales team.Clarify that sales team is aware of proper reporting procedures for potential loss, theft, or high shrink merchandise.Communicate shrink issues as outlined by Loss Prevention policy and procedures.Communicate and validate the awareness of all Shrink Alerts to the sales team.Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the execution of the Shrink Training for all new hires and oversee the training of all ongoing LP programs.Maintain an accurate updated Associate Declaration Form for all members of the sales team.Comply with all Log procedures as provided by Loss Prevention.In partnership with the Sales Manager, coordinate the annual Physical Inventory onboard the ship.Conduct monthly cycle counts as scheduled.Comply with Anti-Bribery policy. SafetyEnsure that staff is kept informed and in compliance with all safety, security, and environmental polices as outlined by Corporate Office and Cruise Line Partners.Report any incidences of illnesses/work related injuries, using the Incidence Report Form and sending to Corporate Office HR Department. SupervisoryHold self and others accountable for achieving the goals and expectations set by Corporate Office and Cruise Line Partners.Hold self and others accountable to the adherence of Starboards core values.Provide constant on-the-job coaching, feedback, and guidance for the sales team through Starboard s training tools.Maintain high employee engagement through mutual respect, guidance, positive reinforcement, motivation, and recognition.Commit to developing the associates potential by determining training needs and implementing development plans.Effectively and positively communicate company information with all levels of staff.Assist in daily store kickoff and closing meetings.Complete 60 day and end of contract evaluations on the sales team, in partnership with the Sales Manager.Active involvement and recommendations in the sales associate talent review process, specialist identification, and other high potential associates.Validate all workloads are planned, prioritized, and effectively delegated. Create adequate time for follow-up to ensure proper execution of directives.Model and inspire others, and hold all levels of the sales team accountable to behave in a fair and ethical manner.Support Cruise the Line Partners standards and guidelines.Comply with all company policy and procedures.In the absence of the Shop Manager, assume duties and responsibilities of the Shop Manager.May be required to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated.
