Leads a small technical group with minimum supervision.Provides guidance, sets expectations, clarifies responsibilities, and provides feedback for project team members in accomplishing tasks and goals.Participates as a key contributor and assigns work to meet group commitments.Influences at department or program management level.Provides input on program-related decisions.Proposes innovative initiatives and projects.Contributes to the solution of complex technical problems; provides resources, removes barriers and ensures application of common approaches.Demonstrates depth of knowledge of engineering discipline(s) and leverages expertise on other projects.Identifies developmental needs of group members.Assists with the transfer of knowledge; coaches and mentors less experienced engineers.QualificationsSkillsProject Management - Has a good understanding of and effectively applies project management techniques in low to moderately complex projects.Value Package Change - Has the awareness proficiency plus experience using the local Value Package Change process, including having prepared and submitted a VPCR, participated in the weekly cross-functional forum, completed the Corporate VPC training, uses the Corporate VPC Notes tool set, and supported a VPCR as the owner until implementation.Develops Systems And Processes - Identifies and implements effective processes and procedures for accomplishing work. Solid understanding of how to develop systems and process. Applies systems and processes to improve and complete work at a team/departmental level. Works to eliminate system and process inefficiencies and roadblocks. Demonstrates consistent use of structured work documentation (e.g. communication channels, work steps, procedures, checklists, or flow charts).Fosters Open Communication - Solid understanding of how to foster open communication within department and work teams. Expresses views and thoughts when appropriate. Demonstrates the ability to listen to views and identify and acknowledge others feelings using active listening skills. Interacts with people openly and directly. Makes sure people have no surprises. Shares timely updates and information with relevant parties.Design For Six Sigma - At the core of Design for Six Sigma is a process based on critical parameter management and statistical management using a capability growth index. Obtained a trained Green Belt or trained Black Belt certification.Education, Licenses, CertificationsPhD, Masters of Science, Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in engineering required.ExperienceIntermediate level of relevant work experience required, such as responsibility for several components of a project or a complex component of a project.Own technology roadmap for specific part of Flow Control subsystem, Develop /update S curves, Goal Trees for Flow control functionOwn Flow Control Capability Development Strategy. Managing technical leadership of sub system design projectsManaging sub-system projects(wastegate & Variable Geometry) to VPI milestonesManagement and resolution of FIRGs and supporting PQCCompliance with all regulatory and safety standardsOwn Engineering Standard Documents, Participate in relevant FE forumsSupport PPT and advanced engineering requirements for sub system/component
