Unique CharacteristicsThe GF IT Strategy and Planning team exists to create and maintain a robust strategy and plans that align with strategic business requirements across Global Functions IT. These will connect together the individual needs of the business portfolios and capabilities of the project delivery organization, and link to other parts of the IT Function (such as operations). The primary Planning Analyst function is to support the GF IT Planning Manager in the creation and maintenance of those robust plans.In addition the Planning Analyst will support members of the GF IT Strategy and Planning team in a variety of work activities. The Planning Manager will usually give most of the work assignments. The principal accountabilities cover the following componentsPlanningCo-develop the overall Global Functions Plans, connected with overarching IT and Business strategies. These include all aspects of IT strategy (e.g. technology, organization, sourcing).Maintain GF level plans for IT solutions and services with clear costs, constraints and expected benefits drawn up by BIs and segment architects.Maintain both sponsor and spender views of the GF budget with Finance. Maintain handshake documents with sponsors.Support planning manager with deep dives in cost drivers, cost recovery, allocation issues.Support planning manager in developing, maintaining and tracing overall GF IT plan.Investment Portfolio ManagementMaintain a multi-year outlook on investments, operate and base-cost developments, ensuring affordability issues are recognized.Work with the business portfolios, delivery teams and architects to maintain an up-to-date view of the GF project pipeline (investments) and base costs implications.Prepare material to support investment prioritisation in Executive Steering Committee and Business Board meetings.Continuous Improvement & BenchmarkingAssist in managing Global Functions IT overall Continuous Improvement , benchmarking plans and our top quartile journeyCo-ordinate provision of Management Information across Global Functions ITManage the GF IT Leadership Team dashboard process and deliverySpecial ChallengesThe Strategy and Planning team deal with senior stakeholders. The Planning Analyst must be comfortable engaging colleagues up to Executive Vice President level.The Strategy and Planning team respond to many short term queries as well as working on longer term assignments. There will be occasions when working extra hours is necessary in order to meet deadlines.Typically several different tasks are underway at once, being delivered for different people with important deadlines, which will all need to be met.Requirements Skills & Requirements The core IT competences required can be found on the Learning for your Job Profile page on My Career in IT.Typical Years of Experience 9 to 12 years of corporate IT experienceMinimum Education or Certification 4-year Degree related to ITUnique Skills & RequirementsAn ability to analyze issues and propose resolutions is necessary.The Planning Analyst needs to be capable of working independently to agreed deadlines.Given a desired outcome, the Planning Analyst must be capable of making their own decisions to achieve that outcome.The ability to priorities many activities and deal with many stakeholders simultaneously is important.Communication skills are important, as the team engages with several stakeholder groups.This successful candidate willBe most probably degree qualifiedBe an IT professional with extensive experience across a range of IT (e.g. selection of operations, project management, business interface)Demonstrate previous planning experience - either in a similar planning or portfolio management roleHave strong and proven analytical, numerical and interpersonal skillsBe a self starter, comfortable in working alone or in a small virtual team, in highly networked structures
Degree: MCA/ PGDCA

Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering)

Experience: 9-12
