The Specialist AreaGood Understanding of Trade and Cash ProductsIn-depth working knowledge of Trade and Cash applications and its InterfacesFunctional knowledge of Business Operations and related Technology.Experience of resource and financial planning and reporting.Detailed practical experience of test stage design, planning and execution, including User Acceptance Testing.Proven experience of managing business testing through a full project lifecycle.Proven experience of managing and delivering large-scale (> 12 months duration) complex projects and / or programs to time, cost and quality with limited supervisionExperience of a range of project types and business areas.Detailed practical experience of the use of tools for test management and test automationThe Responsibilities Deliver project as per defined testing processEnsure adequate test coverage and risk based approach to UATDeliver test management responsibilities for medium / large projects to time, cost and quality amidst all foreseen and unforeseen challengesEnsure effective resource deploymentTalent retention considering increased competitive presenceAdequate training to facilitate effective job rotation across portfoliosEnsure observation free auditProvide resource with required skill as expected by the stakeholdersResolve infrastructure issuesManage internal and external customer satisfactionProvide effective stakeholder management, liaising with a diverse range of business and technology functions.Negotiation skills - able to win the confidence of all project stakeholders, from business end users through to technical suppliers.Understand the importance of testing and the impact of project deliverables on the customer and ensure these full supports the customer proposition.Maximize the customer experience and minimize risk and cost of change.Deliver Excellence to projects in the form of a business testing service that is perceived by stakeholders to protect and serve the interests of the business, whilst giving value for money.Responsible for accurate and timely reporting against the project plan and budget in line with Programme governanceProcess Delivery/Key project deliverables/ Provide expertise knowledgeProvide initiation, definition, delivery and closure of testing plans to agreed timescales, cost and quality.Manage the business testing service for one or more projects, across one or more programmes. Identify interdependent projects and ensure these are clearly understood and managed.Scope, plan and manage testing through the testing life cycle, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality. This includes ensuring that the testing requirement and plan is capable of verifying the functionality required benefit realisationEnsure appropriate business input to the Test Strategy and Test Approach activities and to the prioritisation of work across Change Programmes. Determine and quantify options and solutions to support the agreed strategy.Develop and extend collaborative working relationships with senior clients, technology suppliers and operational support areas in order to quickly understand requirements, resolve problems/issues, suggest solutions and identify areas for service improvement.Play an active and visible role in project start-up, including leading or assisting in the production of project test strategies and supporting resource and financial planning exercises.Demonstrate ability to plan and manage budgets and to understand budgetary impacts of work within the work stream and the broader Programme. Provide the projects and / or programme with necessary test expertise and responsible for the integrity and consistency of testing required in all stages of the project lifecycle, following formal governance processesPromote Business Testing methods and techniques, in line with bank and industry best practice, and ensure a QA process is applied through the project lifecycle.Develop a network of business testing contacts throughout the group, seeking to exploit synergies while further developing standards and practices.Continuous Improvement/Process improvementEngage actively in CI initiatives and share CI Knowledge and best practices, across GCMSupport CI in the project environment, and promote Lean principles, as appropriate, through use of CI tools e.g. Work-Out, Work-Place Work Out (WPWO) and Team Based Problem Solving (TBPS)Compliance, Risk and ControlIdentify and report testing risks and issues, assisting where appropriate in the discharge of actions arisingIdentify and evaluate risks and issues and devise and implement effective mitigation strategiesChange ManagementUse knowledge to contribute to strategic objectives based on a knowledge and understanding of the organisational impact of change.Ability to assess change drivers and identify threats & opportunities.To establish and build relationships across RBS Group to facilitate achievement of strategic goals maintaining momentum throughout the testing phases of the project lifecycle.Stakeholder management and engagement of key stakeholders up to Senior Management level.Support people through change.People ManagementLine management of testing resources.Management and development of team of staff including selection, coaching, training & development and performance appraisal.Maximise resources through prioritising activities and balancing conflicting demands.Ability to communicate with people (verbally and in writing).Demonstrates leadership in suggesting ideas and persuading others to follow.Manage a team of business testers and / or allocated business resource.Supervisory CultureSupervise direct reports and their activities effectively, including effective record keeping and documentation of key people issues. Ensure direct reports and management teams are competent and have clearly defined responsibilities, both collectively and individually in line with the five pillars of supervision excellenceTell employees what their jobs areTell them how to do their jobsShow them how to do their jobsTest that they have done their jobs properlyThe Requirements 12 to 15 years of work experience in Test Management ActivitiesEducation B.E./ BCA / B. Tech. / MCA / MBA (Systems)/ MScA recognized formal qualification or equivalent job related experience in Project Management and/or Test Management to certified level is desirable.Competent in the use of established test management methodology ensuring formal tracking of test assets and a clear audit trail.Must be able to communicate at all levels, on technical & non-technical issues up to Senior Management LevelCoaching and development of Testing resource generally in terms of governance, standards, quality, tools and techniquesIn depth knowledge and proven application of Project Management methodology and full project lifecycle including documentation standards, risk, change controls, quality frameworks and compliance.Experienced in workshop facilitation, business analysis and process design.Knowledge of the current business operating model and supporting systems / applications including structures and key RBS processes and procedures across RBS Group.Knowledge of banking products and terminology.Demonstrable knowledge of testing tools and techniques.Excellent understanding of all levels of testing and applying the relevant integrity to the process.Competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
