The ResponsibilitiesPurpose of the roleAccountable for the end to end process of Lending Operations unit both onshore and offshoreSet strategy, direction and objective for the teams, aligned to current business themes and driversResponsible to provide senior leadership across India and UK and right level of representation at global decision making forums.Drive the change agenda which includes moving 150+ roles to India that will cover the complex Libor and Base rate Lending businessLibor Lending - Responsilble for 43BN balance sheet that supports a 1Bn revenue line for the Bank - this role will further strengthen Services support for multiple divisions (C&IB, C&PB, Ulster) Base Lending - Responsible for 14BN balance sheet that supports a 300m revenue line for the BankResponsible for the transition of work from the front officeDemonstrate Deep technical subject matter expertise of lending systems, platforms, processes that are critical in meeting the external regulations and delivering the income targets for the different functionsCreate an environment where people are developed to achieve their highest potentialMaintaining appropriate Risk management through robust control governance and frameworksDrive disciplined cost management and a culture of cost consciousness and operational excellenceMotivate and performance drive teams to deliver against business objectives. Focus teams around appropriate service levels that demonstrate delivering value for customers.Set the tone from the top by promoting client focus throughout the strategy , communications and client engagement The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the followingStakeholder Management Develop and maintain relationships with StakeholdersCPB CS&O & Lending Operations (Colin Grange & Mike Welsby)CPB Product Management (Stuart Johnstone)CPB Portfolio Management (Lee Morse)Actively engage with the global Lending Operations teams and represent GHI at all senior management forumsActively engage with the Business Sales & Product, develop a business partner relationship.Drive the transitions and stabilisation of all Lending processes migrating into GHI.Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and sustain innovative product and solutionsEnsure transparency in costs and billing model for local officesCompliance and Regulatory Continuously increase Compliance alertness through interaction with staff, training & implementation of automated tools.Ensure complete adherence to various compliance related guidelines and programsEnsure Operations meets all regulatory commitments and comply with the SOX frameworkEnsure Compliance with all external regulatory and internal policy guidelines.Proactively identify areas that require immediate attention and implement Deep Dive Reviews and mitigating controlsService Quality and operations Maintaining business as usual and ensuring continuity of Operations at a sufficient level of quality and control whilst undergoing transition / integrationEnsure optimum utilisation of capital resources, thereby reducing costs/ increasing productivity and maximising value to customers.Deliver transactions in agreed timeframes, as per SLAs with countries.Improve Quality of processing, reduce errors and inculcate the zero error cultureDevelop and build a business partner approach with in-country operations, front office and Credit.Create a service management framework, which improves the efficiency of service costing, demand management, end-to-end SLA management.Embed a culture of Continuous Improvement and Lean MethodolgyReduce complexity of current operating model by improving quality and better risk management.Improve quality of operational processes by conducting regular process reviews and process confirmationOperational Risk and AuditAccounatble for Operational Risk Management for the Unit.Proactively manage operational risk inherent in business, minimise audit observations.Ensure all the operational issues/risks are identified and mitigated appropriatelyEnsure adequate operational controls to manage non generic processesEnsure that all audit points are resolved and that Operations is carrying an acceptable level of medium and high audit risksEnsure accurate and comprehensive disclosures in the Control Environment Certificate (CEC) PeopleSet the tone from the top, be a visible leader, foster a partnership approach to success , and create an environment which empowers and motivates employees. Engender a culture which puts customers and people at the heart of the businessLead change and transformation programsDrive cultural change in the attitudes of employees.
