The Investment Associate will work closely with the Lead Partner, Education to develop and manage a portfolio of innovative, scalable and sustainable social enterprises in the education and skill development sectors. The role also requires working on transactions for Menterras incubation partner across the categories below. The role will include, but is not limited toPipeline building Actively build pipeline of innovative social enterprises in the K-12 and skill training sectorsBuild key strategic partnerships with organisations in the investment and education sectors to constantly build pipelineManage diligence process Conduct preliminary assessment and detailed due diligence (business, financial and legal) on companies that fit with Menterras investment mandate Conduct secondary research on market opportunity and study competitive landscape for prospective companiesPrepare financial models, exit strategies and provide detailed investment thesis to members of the Investment Committee Term sheet negotiations and transaction structuring.Portfolio management Actively manage a portfolio of 3-4 companies and oversee Menterra s entire portfolio of education and skill training companiesAdd value to existing portfolio companies, including strategic advisory support on operations, introductions to mentors, investors, and potential partners, and actively partnering to help companies raise subsequent rounds of funding and/or position themselves for acquisition Analyze trends across the education portfolio, present findings and make recommendations for support to portfolio companiesOther Collaborate with Investors Relations and Finance & Compliance team for managing the investment management operations, preparing investor reports and board presentations on periodic basis. Support Menterras other activities to build the social enterprise ecosystem in IndiaRequired qualifications Bachelors degree required 4+ years of work experienceAt least 2 years of experience in education and skill training sectors Deep interest in early stage social investingPreferredMBA or CA / CFA preferred Exposure to education sector or work in education sector is a must.Bachelors or masters with focus on education is an added advantage. Data driven decision making mentality and sound business judgmentPrevious work with social enterprise is desirable Self-starter, capable of taking initiatives and making decisions in a collaborative mannerDemonstrated commitment to social impact Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and manage workload at fast pace with strong attention to detail
Degree: CA (Chartered Accountant) | ICWA | MBA/ PGDM

Additional Degree: B.Com. (Commerce)

Experience: 4-9
