Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform database administrator activities like installing, upgrading and maintaining the various database servers.Work with the application developers while designing an application to completely utilize the features provided by various database systems. Perform query tuning for slow running or bad performing SQL queries.Design, configuration, testing, setup of Replication and partition tables for various development teams.Conversion and migration of database from one RDBMS to another RDBMS.Work with the middleware team to ensure sufficient infrastructure is available for the staff to perform their duties.Ability to plan for infrastructure expansion.Provide support to other sites.Train and orient staff on optimal use of IT resources.Required Experience/SkillsBachelors degree, preferably in an IT-related discipline.Experience with multiple platforms including UNIX, Windows,Experience with multiple database servers like Oracle, MySQL, DB2 (Certification in at least one database technology is preferred)Aware of web servers and application server like Websphere, Weblogic,Aware of Firewalls, Load Balancers, Network infrastructure, etc.Strong overall breadth of technology background and knowledge of technology industry trendsHighly skilled at issue identification and resolutionAbility to interpret and apply required policies and proceduresLeadership, Teamwork, Client ManagementExcellent oral and written communication skills, Strong interpersonal skillsStrategic thinking, tactical delivery of solutionsWork under pressure of multiple projects and deadlinesSelf-starter, team player
Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering) | BCA (Computer Application)
