The objective of the project is to create a holistic time series infrastructure using a database technology with consistent tools for data acquisition/loading, data quality and production support that covers a broad range of asset classes, data types and frequencies that meet current and future trading, analytic and operational needs for all MS users. The infrastructure has been designed to support times series queries from native Q, other languages (including Java, C#, C++, R, S+, Perl, Matlab) and abstraction methods (ex. Datalink, Excel Add-In).The goal is to provide easy access to a broad range of pricing and market information for the business units to help them make informed business decisions. The project involves some degree of data warehousing and a data access layer that provides transparent access to data.We are seeking a KDB/q developer to work on the project supporting and developing loaders /APIs and investigating problems reported by users. The successful candidate will also work on development projects assigned by the NY based team. This individual should have superior communication and problem solving skills. We are looking for someone who will be a hands-on developer and who is interested in interacting with users. He/she should have exposure to Financial Markets and be interested in learning the Pricing world.QUALIFICATIONSSkills Required - Solid knowledge of the UNIX/Linux environment- Strong KDB/q skills with a thorough understanding of q internals such as rdb, hdb, and tick data storage- Perl, Unix shell scripting languages- Experience in designing and developing loading and extraction process for the project's data warehouse- Experience with various source/target types like Sybase tables, views, stored procedures, flat files and xml filesSkills Desired- Knowledge of equities and fixed income securities such as stocks, indices, options, bonds, swaps, futures, repos, etc
Degree: MCA/ PGDCA | ME/ M.Tech./ MS (Engg/ Sciences)

Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering) | BCA (Computer Application)

Experience: 2-6
