The Lead, Global Mobility will have global responsibility to help drive business alignment; supported through frequent regional and divisional interaction with HR colleagues. Additionally, this role will have significant focus and impact on project initiatives for the global business.- Develop and drive a mobility strategy for Harman International which aligns to and supports the business plans and priorities.- Integrate mobility strategy, programs and opportunities into the broader Talent Management goals working with and through the rest of the Talent organization with a focus on development, retention of High Potentials, including performance management and repatriation of assignees- Drive efficient, compliant and swift cross border movement of people and establish processes that ensure fast and fair decision on the movement of people that leverages efficiencies and delivers a positive experience to the international assignees and transfers.- Develop and run mobility programs in line with Harmans mobility policies and leverage other global programs as appropriate- Establish and provide management information (quantitative and qualitative) on all cross border Employee movements to measure success of mobility initiatives and suggest actions and solutions for impact- Establish and maintain a highly engaged (virtual) team across the Global Mobility function.- Proactively drive implementation of the International Assignment Policy and contribute to other Harman s mobility initiatives (such as new global mobility tool implementation, policy reviews etc.)- Monitor compliance of Global Mobility Policies and provide feedback on policies & guidelines to Global Mobility function for consideration.- Provide support and guidance to International Assignment coordinators relating to general mobility issues, technical questions, policies and individual assignments- Ensure International Assignment coordinators are provided with appropriate training (technical and non-technical)- Partner with finance to understand and ensure effective cost management and charging processes between various geographies in place for assignees.- SPOC for all Vendors working wrt Global mobilityAnalytical/Decision Making Responsibilities- Makes key decisions and suggestions based on a solid understanding of mobility principles, Harman business objectives and needs analysis.- Interactions with others are often aimed at influencing, negotiating and finalizing decisions- Responsible for interpreting data related to mobility or other people metrics- Assesses situations to determine risk mitigation and escalates to appropriate parties (e.g. Risk Management/ Compliance teams, Regional HR Leaders, Regional Finance Leaders,etc.)- Provide input to Harmans International Assignment policy discussions representing diverse set of constituents to ensure global policy decisions reflect and support Business needs.- Strong experience related to financial and economic aspects of expatriate policies (e.g. currency, balance sheet, tax equalization) and ability to translate complex information for resolutionEducationMasters's degree in HR or equivalentExperience- A minimum of 10 or more years of related experience- Mobility Operations experience is essential- Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) certification idealKnowledge and Skills Requirements- Deep understanding of mobility principles, policies and practices including knowledge and appreciation for tax and legal risks associated with international mobility- Ability to research and dissect problems and articulate options for solutions- Strong excel and data skills- Ability to initiate, build and sustain productive, long-term and trusting relationships across cultures and across all levels of an organisation resulting in the successful delivery of projects and services.- Experienced in managing projects across borders in a virtual environment- Savvy wrt workflow/automation toolsOther Requirements- Relationship building skills; ability to interact with senior leadership credibly- Good listening and communication skills (writing, speaking, presenting, listening, responding, conference calls)- Ability to work both independently and within teams, including virtual teams, demonstrating a global mindset with a focus on our culture and values- Understanding of mobility and People strategies and processes- Excellent project, team and time management skills- Proactive in dealing with issues and opportunities- Strong problem solving skills- Influencing skills. Ability to work with ambiguity, and build consensus across diverse, often global, groups- Relevant experience, e.g. involved in / delivering / managing people initiatives
