A Graduate / Post Graduate (preferred) Degree from recognized Institute (or equivalent) in a relevant area with minimum first division higher degree or recognized professional teaching degree (e.g. B.Ed.) (preferred) Experience of teaching the PYP (minimum of 2 years)ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSEvidence of continued relevant professional development, including significant IB training experienceKnowledge and understanding of PYP ProgramUnderstanding of effective teaching and learning strategiesRelevant knowledge of curriculum concepts, plans and implementationExperience in teaching learners with diverse needs, especially SEN studentsExperience in an international school environment is mandatoryExperience and knowledge of curriculum design and developmentExcellent knowledge of MS-Office software suite and ERP SolutionsRESPONSIBILITIESActively seeking professional development through trainings/ workshops/ seminars/ book reading/ research etc.Ensure that the in-house training and training given in IB workshops must be effectively used to mentor and groom the studentsExhibiting as a role model and demonstrating the IB learners profile consistentlyIdentifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how the learners will be taught and assessedSetting tasks which challenge students and ensure high levels of interestUsing a variety of teaching methods to match approach to content, structure information, present a set of key ideas and use appropriate vocabularyMake use of effective questioning, listen carefully to students and give attention to errorsMaking effective use of assessment and ensure the coverage of PYP programmeEnsuring effective teaching and best use of available time with studentsProviding clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challengeAssessing students as thinkers with their own theoriesEncouraging students for open-ended inquiryEmpowering students and make them responsible for their actionsPursuing pragmatic teaching and learning and use real life situations / examplesEncouraging pupils to think and talk about their learning, develop self-control and independence, concentrate and persevere, and listen attentivelyLeading responsibility for a subject or aspect of the school s work and develop plans which identify clear targets and success criteria for its development and / or maintenanceIdentifying SEN (students with special educational needs) or very able students
