We are currently looking for a Legal Specialist to join our IKEA India team in Bangalore.PURPOSE OF FUNCTION Legal function gives direction and supports the IKEA business in areas of legal and governance. Providing IKEA Group companies with expertise on relevant areas such as; corporate, agreements, litigations, compliance and governance.PURPOSE OF JOB Responsibility to review, support and secure the legal and governance aspects of the businesses and operations in IKEA India under the guidance of IKEA Group Legal & Governance.ASSIGNMENTKnowledge of Real Estate Laws and ability to understand intricacies of real estate acquisition throughout the Country with strong negotiation skills keeping in mind IKEA s best interests.Understanding of regulatory framework applicable on entities with FDI in India.Ability to understand and comprehend the various legal issues in day to day operations of the company and support the management of each defined core area.Secure corporate governance for companies belonging to IKEA Group.Ensure and maintain a good cooperation with and between core areas, group functions and other function/ areas within the IKEA Group.Monitor and secure the legal aspects and give day to day assistance on legal and governance matters to IKEA businesses and operations in India.Acting as a link between external lawyers and business units and secure the performance of external lawyers in respect of quality, cost, etc.Supporting IKEA Group Legal and Governance on projects and other substantive matters.Provide advice to relevant stakeholders in order to reduce exposure to risks and optimize opportunities.Contract drafting and negotiating skills.Secure legal compliance by actively creating awareness and support management to organise for compliance.Support and secure the governance of the business unit(s) by among others support accurate steering documents, decision making structure and delegation of authorisation and responsibilities.Develop competence and provide education to relevant stakeholders in the area of laws and regulations. Keep updated in relevant international and local legal and governance developments, including changes in international, domestic and case laws and regulations.COMPETENCESA KNOWLEDGE LLB from a leading institute in India.6-8 years of experience in Real Estate function.Sound understanding of business processes.Legal and governance competence within India as well as relevant areas of operations.Be able to have, or acquire solid understanding of legal systems (including litigation procedures) in India.Negotiation skills.Fluent in both Hindi and English (written and spoken).
