Provide leadership to Heads of functions reporting to the roleDirect efforts in identifying new sourcing opportunities, evaluation of suppliers, establishing new sources for new technologies and in new markets as business requirements dictateAccountable for maintenance of a qualified supply base to meet cost, quality, and delivery and technology requirements of the companyManage the development and negotiation of supply agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives.Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies, and work collaboratively with Global team members to prioritize and drive implementationWork with Global Medtronic team to align MEIC sourcing initiatives with corporate guidelinesAccountable for leading efforts in establishing and running of a smooth and efficient shipping process that would include all national and international shipping.Accountable for creation, maintenance and updating of data base of inventory at Centre levelDirect efforts in creation of a Training Plan that addresses personal development of employees and also include trainings on clinical, technical. quality, product domain, soft tools and managerial/ leadership trainingMaintains Training records as per requirements of existing policies/ guidelinesAccountable for smooth and efficient Lab operations that would include directing efforts towards maintenance of data base of all test and measuring equipment, their calibration status, AMCs of equipment and ensuring EHS compliance of MEIC; including conduct of necessary training in firefighting, first aid, safety management etcThe IT team in support and applications would work under the guidance and supervision of this role and would be accountable for adherence to all existing IT policies. Collaboration with the IT teams in India, Singapore and Globally would also be the charter of this role.PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS This individual reports to the Site Director and work closely by partnering with the Directors of Engineering (R & D) and Director of PMO & APAC (R and D).Works with other cross functional departments as per requirements.EXPERIENCE Minimum 15 Years experience with progressively increasing responsibilities, and minimum 8 years in operations in engineering R & D organization; preferably a MNCKNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITYThe individual will need to possess excellent people skills, project management abilities and be able to identify and prioritize opportunities. Drive for results, inter personal relationships and proactive approach are mandatory for this role.This person must be able to manage a variety of team members (diverse cultural backgrounds), provide strategic input on long-range business plans and provide leadership across departments.Must possess strong operational skills.Ability to manage multiple complex internal and external organizational dynamics.Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skillsAbility to work independently (self-directed)Experience in successfully collaborating with various functional departmentsExcellent interpersonal and influencing skills including evidence of managing multi-discipline teamsAbility to effectively handle conflict through proactive action, and direct and timely communicationAttention to detail and experience to check behind the scenes to ensure surprises are minimizedLeads by example by setting standards for timeliness, work ethic, and personal integrityStrong written, verbal, and presentation skillsPrepare audience specific reports and communicationsAbility to establish and maintain a trusted role with the various stakeholders in coordinating multiple functions across the organizationPreference will be given to candidates with a successful track record of leading operational teams in an MNCMust possess excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate operational information at all levels inside and outside the organization.Basic understanding of financial, budgeting and commercial evaluation process is required.The position requires a highly collaborative individual with operational management/ program management skills and an understanding of the environment, processes and tools required for efficient and effective delivery to various internal & external customersMust embrace change and work within a changing environment. EDUCATIONRequiredBS degree in engineeringCertification in Six Sigma ( Black belt) PreferredMBACertified Project Management Professional (PMI Certification)OPMP - Operations & Performance Management Professional Certification SHORT-TERM SUCCESS METRICS (6-12 MONTHS)Robust Operations management with clear dashboard to track and monitor various activitiesrusting relationships with all functions at MEIC and with GBU stake holders as appropriateDrive the operations at MEIC and establish measurement metrics for various departments under operationsFeedback from internal customer and external customersTraining Metrics
