RESPONSIBILITIESManage and monitor networking technology solutions for the organization including those related to LAN optimization, firewall and security configuration, VPNTake an ownership role in the operational support of network solutions by implementing, documenting and managing systems though their lifecycleDocument network architecture, infrastructure components, and operating proceduresAssist in management, monitoring, and troubleshooting network and computer infrastructure as appropriateAct as an escalation resource to the support team for troubleshooting network problemsAct as a mentor and resource to peers in the operations team and support staffParticipate in design review discussions with other members in the IT Infrastructure Services teamAdvice management on ongoing needs and issues related to networking and security infrastructureResponsible to report on network availability metrics (system component up/down time) as required by managementAct as a primary escalation point and respond to critical outages and production related issues 24/7 to ensure that network uptime requirements are consistently met or exceededProactive network band width upgrades, end of life network switch and router upgrades, wireless network implementations, software and OS upgrades that will bring existing equipment up to current prescribed standards in an effort to continually drive improvements in network performanceDevelop and maintain Network Operations, Service Desk, Event Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management and Change Management ProcessesDefining and reporting Key Performance Indicators to monitor network process health; define and report on customer facing service metricsDefine, implement and oversee network health monitoring policy procedures and guidelinesConduct System Outage Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent the reoccurrence of the incidentsConstantly review and refine support documentation, processes, and procedureReporting on SLAs and metrics for the performance of the networkREQUIREMENTSBachelor/Master of Science in Computer Science or Network Engineering or ITExperience with IP network technologies including QoS, MPLS, IP VPN, and network-security in large scale multi-site enterprise environmentsMust have strong knowledge of TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, DNS, DHCPKnowledge on a variety of networking technologies including configuring and managing; MPLS, VPN, routers/switches, firewalls, load balancersExperience in troubleshooting/supporting wireless technologiesDemonstrate knowledge of virtualization such as VMware, Hyper-VDemonstrate knowledge of MS Windows Server 2008, 2012, *NIXDemonstrate knowledge of mail servers such as MS Exchange 2010/2013, IBM Domino 8.x/9.xExperience with various storage platforms such as SAN, NAS, DASUnderstanding of database, either relational or NoSQLCertifications are a plus.
