Manage and develop the NOC and SOC team through mentoring, education and leading by example.Oversee the hiring process to ensure the brightest talent is coming in.Develop & Maintain NOC/SOC SLA levels; Own the service alert/outage process; Own root cause analysis; Document standard operating procedures & methodologiesImplement ITIL best practice for effective monitoring, Incident Management, Change and Problem Management.During the initial days the NOC manager will have to work very closely with other support teams in transitioning the activities that will be performed by L1 and L2 engineers and also document them.Building Knowledge Management System for reference and guidance.Participate in all Sev 1 and Sev 2 Incidents and ensure that major incident management process is in place and followed effectively.Responsible for managing and coordinating the NOC and SOC team who will be working 24 x 7 x 365 days. The main aim for this coordination is to make sure that the roles and responsibilities of team members are aligned with the business goals.Coordinate the shift roster for the NOC and SOC operations and carefully allocates NOC engineers on different shift for ensuring the whole NOC shift works in an efficient and effective manner.NOC Manager has to oversee the work of junior employees to ensure that system requirements have been properly implemented and procedures are being carefully followed.Will work very closely with Service Level Management team in building and refining the current process and implementing all aspects of ITIL.Will work closely with monitoring team to polish the monitoring system and build a stable and more reliable monitoring solution.Conduct weekly staff meetings with leadership team and share the progress on different metrics.Ensure the utmost level of accessibility of mission critical software/services & systems available to our client base. Ensure system stability and high quality service for SaaS product environment.Provide leadership and guidance on proactive monitoring and performance.Constantly monitor and improve user experience. Develop and convey regular reporting on product success metrics.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREDThorough knowledge on the functioning of NOC/SOC in an organization.Should have prior experience in setting up processes in place for effective functioning of NOC/SOC.Experience with Incident, Problem and Change management processesShould know basics of Data center technologies and networking concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsShould have worked on ticketing tools like Service Now, BMC Remedy, Manage Engine, HPSM etc.Should have worked on monitoring tools like Solarwinds, Nagios, Zenoss, Splunk etc.Must have a positive attitude and willingness to grow with the team and demonstrate strong leadership skills.Proven technical abilities and strong project management skills.Educational Qualification and desired Certifications NOC and SOC manager require at least a bachelor's degree with qualifications in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering and information technology or a suitable experience in managing network operations center.ITIL Intermediate/ Expert Level certification is necessary.Any technical certification on cisco, VMware or Linux will be an added advantage.
