General Accounting Functional Process Owner (FPO), the Operations Manageris accountable to lead a team of R2R people managers and functional analysts to manage general ledger accounting and reconciliation activities, as a service provided by the Finance Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Chennai, India. The individual in this role is accountable for end to end general accounting functions with strong focus on Balance Sheet reconciliations supporting BNYM management across geographies and legal entities. S/he is accountable for timely and accurate performance of various general ledger activities on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarter and annual basis as required at the service levels agreed through the Mutual Service Agreements (MSAs). This individual will actively participate in the strategic initiatives and special projects as per business requirement. S/he should independently manage complex accounting issues and implement various process controls. The Ops manager will manage and support month end closing of Books of accounts, working on various Sub-ledgers, Balance sheet Reconciliation and other Reporting activities. S/he shall be responsible to ensure compliance with internal, external audit and SOX requirements. S/he will supervise his/her team s day-to-day capture and evaluation of their performance metrics at the functional, team and individual level. S/he will coach and mentor team members to perform effectively in their role.S/he will be responsible for participating in various Onshore Controllers calls, managing business performance metrics, transitions and employee & customer satisfaction scores. S/he will ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Polices and GAAPs. Qualification and skill set requirements Qualified Accountant, preferably Chartered Accountant with Bachelors Degree, preferably in accounting or finance, or equivalent post qualification; work experience of ten plus (10+) years in a senior financial position in a similar industry. Team handling and experience around setting goals and performance management at each grade levelStrong domain knowledge in Finance and Accounting space.Strong problem-solving, decision-making and exceptional handling skills.Experience in handling various stakeholders both at Onshore and Offshore.Good written and verbal communication skillsMulti-tasking, ability to work under pressure with multiple stakeholders and in dynamic environment is a must.Strong interpersonal & presentation skills.Experience in any ERP and Reconciliation system (preferably PeopleSoft and Blackline Recon).Experience in Six Sigma techniques, Continues Process Improvements and Business Continuity Plan.Should have clarity of thought and ability to effectively communicate with all levels.Accountable for Employee Engagement & attrition management.Prior experience in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) industry, Investment Management and Investment services is preferred.
