Job Details

Analyzes, acquires, installs, modifies and supports operating systems, databases, utilities and Internet/intranet-related tools. Conducts systems programming and systems support activities, such as new or revised program language codes, processing routines and report generators. Monitors effective language codes, processing routines, hardware use and use of database management techniques. Modifies, maintains and updates software, such as compilers, link editors, assemblers, OEM utilities, JCL, macros and subroutines. Develops and reviews operator and control instructions. Prepares and conducts system and programming tests requiring interfacing of hardware and software. Conducts programming tasks including program design, program coding, debugging and documentation. As directed, prepares feasibility studies and designs tests to determine operating characteristics of software. Note May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.Prepares detailed specifications from which programs and procedures will be written and systems will be implemented.Responsible for solution deployment including design, development, testing, debugging, documentation, and training of users or recipients.Has full technical knowledge of all phases of solution engineering and project management as well as development and design work.Has good understanding of the business or function for which solution is designed.Responsible for quality assurance review.Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members.Responsible for bidding project effort.May be responsible for program management, project completion and user satisfaction.May support application use and deploymentAnalyze business requirements for use in engineering designMay communicate directly with customers on a daily basis at all managerial and working levels within customer organizations and within Itron. Listens effectively to understand and address the overall impact of issues as they affect the customer (processes, resources, time)May conduct on-site customer support independentlyDirects solutions to hardware, software and process related issues through analytical thinking and planning. Defines and implements workarounds, process improvements and corrective actionsDocuments and communicates issues and resolutions using a variety of formats. Logs issues, tracks progress and updates the customer, the department s involved and internal/external management. Creates and updates knowledge base documentsSubmits expense reports, timesheets, trip reports and customer issue updates in a timely manner
Degree: MCA/ PGDCA | ME/ M.Tech./ MS (Engg/ Sciences)

Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering) | BCA (Computer Application)

Experience: 8-13
