Our client, multi national financial services company is seeking to recruit a Principle Developer. You will be directly reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager. This position will be based in BahrainPosition SummaryThe Principal Developer provides technical direction and leadership in architecture, design, and development and fulfils an important leadership function in mentoring and training junior staff and supervising team members.With expert level development and support capabilities he or she will work closely with internal customers to understand their business requirements, design solutions based upon those requirements and implement the solutions to the satisfaction of the customer.Principal AccountabilitiesThe Principle Developer supports the solution delivery of multiple concurrent developments and systems integration projects and is ultimately responsible for the solution technical design and architecture. The responsibilities includeManage the technical delivery of small and medium sized projectsSupervise a team of developers.Define an enterprise architecture strategy and set out short, medium and long term initiatives to achieve this. Lead the design and development of enterprise-level integrated systems spanning multiple, strategic technologies.Provide input into Technologies Development strategy by analysing emerging technology trends and making recommendations regarding their adoption.Take responsibility for the organisation's coding standards and development best practices. Act as a champion for continuous learning, define and implement training strategies to ensure the skill level of staff improves and stays current. Work and communicate effectively with business users and third parties, both formally and informally.Assist business users in defining their requirements by providing technical guidance. Validate business requirements and assess the technical feasibility. Validate vendor proposals both in terms of technical design and effort.Provide accurate impact assessment of proposed changes and initiatives.Identify potential project risk events and provide risk mitigation plans.Mentor junior developers with code reviews, design reviews, and test plan reviewsDefine Work Breakdown Structure, provide accurate estimates and define a plan for the execution of assigned tasks.Lead Systems Integration Testing and assist the business with UAT.


Unique Knowledge and Skills10+ years Professional IT experience5+ years hands-on development experience of which 3+ years should be in Java J2EE environmentAt least 3 years enterprise level design experienceStrong in the WebSphere suite of products with working knowledge the following products and deep technical knowledge in at least 3 of themo WebSphere Application Servero WebSphere Portal Servero WebSphere Process Servero WebSphere Message Broker and MQo IBM WorklightMobileFirsto Oracleo PowerCARDSolid understanding of standards, specifications, bodies (e.g. XML, UDDI, JMS, BPMN)Service orchestration and integration.Demonstrable experience developing solution architecture Leadership experience throughout the software lifecycleGood understanding of the other technical aspects of high-availability environments including network, clustering, security and database technologiesconcepts.Excellent technical team management skills.Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision or guidance from others. Demonstrated ability to effectively and creatively solve problems.Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely with people on all levels in the organization.Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)Appropriate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.Professional certifications in the relevant technologies will be an advantage.Problem Solving Decision MakingUses judgment based on practice and precedenceUses judgment based on the analysis of informationEvaluates situations using multiple sources of information
