Activities and TasksThe key roles envisaged for the Project Manager (Campus Development) areReview project proposal or plan to determine time frame, quality control and budget. Establish procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.Effectively communicate project expectations, project goals and scope to internal and external teams.Mitigate project risks and manage issues; manage project scope and change effectively.Support business and technology project managers and stakeholders to manage project scope and help ensure projects remain on time and on budget.Monitor the GANTT/PERT chart for projects.Interact and be the interface with stakeholders and senior management, as also prospective vendors, to define and represent objectives and priorities within the scope of the project / programme / initiative.Network with local, state and national agencies for project approvals.Take a leadership role in developing and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders and technology partners to facilitate cross-organizational communications, coordination and transparency.Be an effective member of cross-functional teams, working with all relevant stakeholders to refine strategy, gather and document requirements and identify potential impact in terms of results (cost, quality, timeliness) and process/operations, technology, organization (including people), finances.Ensure that all participants have a clear understanding of project goals, benefits, methods, roles and responsibilities.Ensure systematic project closure and documentation of project planning, process and implementation.Structure and ReportingThe Project Manager (Campus Development) will be a key member of the Campus Development Office and will report to the Director, IIHS.Person SpecificationApplicants should have a Masters Degree in Building, Engineering or Construction Project Management along with 4-6 years of relevant experience in civil or environmental engineering projects, in the field of project planning and implementation. Applicants need to be able to work effectively in a team, and meet deadlines. Fluency in at least one Indian language is necessary; effective professional knowledge of Kannada is ideal. Some amount of project related inter-city and intra-city travel is expected. The following skills are requiredConstruction project management (including use of PM suites);Construction contract management (procurement, tendering, legal);Industry-standard architectural and engineering drawing;Writing reports and making presentations in English;Excellence with spreadsheet software like MS Excel;Excellent communication skills and a good understanding of MEP building systems;Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards;GIS capability.Qualitative attributes of the personGood client and vendor management, and ability to build relationships based on goodwill;Ability to plan and organize a team effort;Capacity and willingness to motivate, lead, and boost morale of the team;Effective time management, with the capacity and willingness to handle tight deadlines;Logical decision-making ability;Strong focus on quality;Willingness to travel;Physical and mental fitness.
