Job DescriptionThe Practice Team is responsible for providing cutting-edge and integrated solutions to Indias urban development challenges by bringing together faculty and experts across diverse domains of knowledge and practice; exposing learners to real-life problems and integrating the practice into academics and research.This is a full time position, in the Practice Team at IIHS based out of Chennai, with travel to other locations in the State and India. The deliverables of the TNUSSP Project Manager at IIHS will be to successfully manage activities related to the project including, but not limited to planning support, implementation tracking and timely delivery, project monitoring and performance and financial reporting, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and documentation and learning through the course of the project. Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Project Manager shall coordinate management related activities with internal teams at IIHS.Activities and TasksYour responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following Undertaking all project management activities related to the project, including preparing plans and budgets, activity and deployment plans, tracking delivery, and preparing periodic project performance and financial reports, and forecasts.Ensuring that the implementation of all project components and activities of the project are on track, and report on, and take action on course-corrections for their timely completion.Supporting project component teams, as well as sub-grantees and project partners, in helping achieve their plans in a timely manner and to excellent quality standards.Helping implement the Monitoring and Evaluation systems and processes for the Project.Managing relationships with all internal and external stakeholders of the project including the Govt., private sector, Non-Govt. organizations, civil society organizations, etc.Liaising with the IIHS Operations, Finance and People teams to facilitate work coordination.Working with the Team Leader and Component Leaders to proactively address and resolve issues that impact the project and help ensure timely project deliverables.Anchoring the organization of workshops, meetings, conferences, etc.; and participate in such events to represent the project, as neededEngaging in project outreach activities with external stakeholders including identifying potential collaborators, and anchoring the organization of workshops, meetings, conferences, etc. and other avenues for advancing Project research.Carry out other tasks as assigned.This offer is on an exclusive basis, which implies that other professional assignments (whether compensated or not) that bear a potential conflict of interest with the IIHS cannot be undertaken.Person SpecificationApplicants should hold a Masters degree in Management (business / project management) with at least five years of professional experience that include project management and/or consulting work. A Bachelor s degree with 3 7 years of relevant work experience could also be considered in exceptional cases.Ideal applicants would have worked in and have interest in areas of Water, Sanitation and Urban development, in India and the international context. Experience with the research community will be considered an asset.The candidate must have Project management, Project Reporting experience, with excellent spoken and written communication skills. [S]he must demonstrate an ability to engage with and across multiple disciplines, which is central to the work-ethic at the IIHS. Successful candidates will possess both the desire and capacity to learn and work in a team.
