Key Responsibilities / DutiesManage medium/large d projects through a complete project lifecycleOversee the delivery of one or more work streams within a programOversee the delivery of several small/medium d projectsAdhere to the PMO project methodologyDefine Project Charter (e.g. project objectives, scope and deliverables) and validate alignment with business and system strategiesLead reviews of requirements and designs with relevant stakeholders to obtain agreement and sign offCreate estimates of effort, costs and timescales for proposed projects and take responsibility for managing against these estimatesAssist in prioritization/phasing of project deliverablesSecure and coordinate the necessary resources for a project by working with appropriate line managers including any vendor or third party resourcesDevelop and manage communications plans supporting the project; including but not limited, to status reporting, management of issues and risksScope/Change managementOrderly close-out of project, including, but not limited to, conducting Sponsor Satisfaction Survey and lessons learnt as appropriateSupervise day-to-day work of project teamLead and motivate staff on the project teamKey contributor to the continuous improvement and development of the PMO project methodologyContributor to the ongoing development of the PMO book of businessMay supervise day-to-day work and coaching of less senior PMO staff members, but will not have a formal staff management roleQualifications Work Experience / KnowledgeMinimum 7 years experience managing projects including responsibility for the whole project life cycleIdeally, will have managed multi-discipline projects and/or phases of projects with teams of up to 10 people and of a minimum length of 9 monthsExpert practitioner of PMO project methodologyBroad knowledge of systems and business processes in at least one business areaIdeally, will have had experience of negotiating with external parties / suppliersPeople management experienceProficient user of the Microsoft suite of products, including Project and Office Skills / Other Personal Attributes RequiredExcellent written communication skills (to include process flowcharting, and formal business solutions documents)Strong verbal communication skills, including presentation skillsAble to influence and build relationships at all levels internally and externallyStrong customer focused attitudeStrong experience of negotiation, influencing and conflict managementTeam playerCreative problem solver - able to challenge and propose solutions which challenge the status quoStructured, disciplined approach to work and strong attention to detailStrong time management, organizational and planning skillsAble to multi-task and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while remaining professional and courteousProven self-starterFlexible, able to meet changing requirements and prioritiesProven ability to work in a global, multicultural environmentFlexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as and when required by demands of projects and/or PMOFormal Education (minimum requirement to perform job duties)A Bachelors Degree, Graduate or Graduate Caliber, or equivalent qualification is preferredLicense/Registration/Certification (minimum requirement to perform job duties) Formal project management training and/or qualification (i.e. PMI PMP certificate) preferred.
