Managing and governing the project in accordance with XXX PLM.Understanding business project requirements (customer and internal) and ensuring clarity / traceability through to delivery. This might involve writing and implementing against agreed customer SOWs.Development of a project budget with the functional stakeholder in accordance with the scope defined by the project charter and managing and tracking of all associated project spend.Understanding, managing and communicating changes to the agreed project deliverables or product which impact schedule, spend, product cost or quality.Working with all stakeholder to identify and manage risks and issues in accordance with the PLM policy, project requirements and as specified in the project management plan.Define the development and delivery elements of any vendor SOWs and ensuring that appropriate plans, project KPIs and reporting regimes are agreed, implemented and maintained in accordance with the project management plan.Creating and maintaining a project communication plan with all key internal and external project stakeholdersDeveloping, maintaining, reporting and tracking appropriately detailed project schedules with key functional stakeholders and vendors that are linked to overall program targets.Tracking and reporting product costs against agreed targets and estimates as specified in the project charter.Effective project close out in accordance with the PLM policy requirements and recording lessons learned for the project to ensure that relevant Lessons Learned from similar projects are reviewed and acted upon.Approval of project related Engineering Changes.Essential FunctionsEstablish and maintain and commit a full Project Management Plan (PjMP) in accordance with the PLM and gaining formal approval of the plan.This includes as a minimum- Project Scope- Full Schedule and resource plans (internal and external work packages)- Clear committed deliverables which are agreed to by appropriate PGM- Clear KPIs established- Active Risk / Issue Log- Active Change LogEnsure that Development, Operations and Warranty teams generate and release technical and process requirements to align with the agreed project objectives.Provide direction and support to the extended project team, ensuring that all team members are fully aware of the project objectives, goals, targets, and constraints.Ensuring all the relevant stakeholders and work package owners are engaged with the development and approval of the project schedule complying with resource group processes.Ensure that the product delivers the features and functions as defined in the requirements by providing a status of adherence through life of the project.Ensuring the outputs meet the project requirements, success and acceptance criteria as defined in the project management planActively manage resolution of product quality and functionality issues to conclusion.Maintain an effective project change control system in accordance with PLM policy.Ensure risks and Issues are reviewed and updated weekly in advance of reviews with key stakeholders with the following points addressed to effect resolutionOwners must be clear and transferred if action or escalation requiredMitigation plan / actions in place as appropriateUp to date status on actions progressRe-levelling of risk if requiredEscalation where necessaryEnsure inappropriate project spend is challenged and rejected for reallocation if not part of the delivery of the project.Maintain and update weekly status reports containing the agreed content available in the project status repository within the time mandated by the Program Manager.Ensure all project resource requirements are reflected and maintained weekly within the Xyratex resource planning tool and that functional managers are engaged in the scoping of the resources.Maintain appropriate levels of monitoring and control activity to assure the delivery of the project outputs in accordance with agreed Key Performance Indicators.Ensure Engineering Changes are delivered and dispositioned in time to meet the project objectives and budget.Ensure compliance with relevant Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards in accordance with corporate, legal and industry requirements.Require industrial experience 14+ YearsSupport functionsWork with program and product management to ensure the capture of clear business / customer requirements and to highlight specific gaps which would block the development of a project management plan and offer up options / assumptions to address the gaps.Promote and support the Xyratex project management process, best practice and driving continuous process improvement.Prepare and support preparation of appropriate PLM collateral for key reviews and business discussions.
