If you possess a keen eye for detail combined with a strong knowledge of control testing and risk management principles, this may be the role for you.Risk Assurance provides comprehensive, consistent, independent and documented assessment of the effectiveness of Credit Risk and Market Risk frameworks. It is an integral part of the second line of defence internal control structure. During 2016, the teams remit will increase to include testing of areas such as RDAR, and ESE Risk.RBS operates a three lines of defence governance model to ensure appropriate responsibility is allocated for the management, reporting and escalation of risk. Allocation of clear responsibilities for risk management ensures risks are identified, monitored, managed and mitigated so impacts remain within appetite.The 2nd line of defence is responsible for identification and management of risks through robust controls framework as well as providing assurance of the established controls.The Controls Assurance Senior Associate will be responsible for executing controls assurance activity across the team. This will include designing and executing our first year of RDAR Assurance activity, alongside test planning, adequacy & effectiveness testing, and reporting for BAU controls assurance activity.In addition, the role holder must apply and continually develop subject matter knowledge in relation to RDAR, understanding key risks, controls, and strategic direction (as necessary). Experience in a credit risk environment is desirable.The role holder will be responsible for regularly reporting on key MI for senior stakeholders, adding value through results interpretation and/or identification of key themes that may emerge overtime.Whilst no formal line management responsibilities exist, the role holder will be responsible for day-to-day coaching and management of more junior staff supporting our controls assurance activity.Key Responsibilities Provide an outline of the key responsibilities required as part of this role.
