Key specific accountabilitiesRun activitieso Check the daily schedules, verifying all steps successfully completed and outputs as expectedo Analyse processes and related data and produce meaningful management information that meets requirementso Create and support business reports Support activitieso Analyse and identify root cause for failures in applicationso Review and build database tables queries to support problem analysiso Support the handover of new or enhanced software into business-as-usual (BAU) operation, absorbing and assimilating the information and providing junior resources information and education relating to the system technology and function.o Owner of a group of individual Service Improvement items and responsible for their implementation. Providing out of the box solutions and owning these through to implementation.o Identify proactive remedial strategies to prevent future software problems and to improve the quality of delivered software.o The delivery of documentation to agreed standards, on time and error free. Change activitieso Apply data integration flows as part of standard change processeso Undertake analysis to ensure proposed changes are effectiveo Takes responsibility for the technical solution to incidents, and problems, reacting quickly and as necessary to live software errors to limit downtime and resolve the issue.o Build reports in a way that they are generated automaticallyo Stakeholder management and leadership o Understanding customer needs and priorities to providing quality serviceso Ability to build strong relationships with peers, internal and external stakeholderso Ability to strong network and use the relationships to collect and disseminate information, build support, and secure buy-in for desired objectiveso Strong communicator to peers, management and business stakeholders. Provides support during major incident calls and understands technical constraints of live application / service when articulating solutions and business workarounds to impacted business areas.o Decision making and problem solving. o Experience in a role where work significantly impacts a department or functional area within a large organizationo Critical thinker and problem solvero Understands how and when to make a choice independently; how and when to escalate issues to higher levels; analyses risks and future impacts of decisionso Makes decisions and takes timely independent actiono Risk and Control All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards Your Skills and Qualifications will include Competent with SAP ECC 6.0, SAP BW v7, SAP SRM v7, Enterprise Portal v7, SAP PI v7, Solution Manager v7, SAP CE 7, SAP NW 7, Solution Manager, SAP LVM, SAP HANA Competent with SAP solutions on Windows, LINUX and Oracle (11g +) Experience with using Service Now Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) Experienced with distributed computing, virtualization, SAN and NAS storage concepts Strong/clear verbal & written communication skills Good problem solving and analytical skills Ability to understand the business context and respond to users in a clear and timely manner Ability to work under pressure and continue to support users and applications Able to interact and communicate with staff at all levels Basic understanding of the investment banking business Strong team player Cost conscious
Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering)
