The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. The incumbent will demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for a business segment or commodity. In this role you will use your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and long-term business goals.Will drive and be accountable for operational excellence of assigned programs/projectsOwn the RFQ to delivery process for all assigned suppliers/areasConduct qualification & competitive analysis of vendor products / servicesDevelop sourcing strategy/plan on quality, price, delivery, and service necessary to meet requirementsDeliver on business outcomes as per business plansManage budgets and contracts associated with programs and/or initiativesDrive proactive involvement in all functional activities related to sourcing to ensure that sourcing has upfront involvement in all new programs and delivers strong value to the businessUnderstand and drive GE expectations including Six Sigma quality internally and with suppliersDevelop, plan, and manage programs to meet GE purchasing commitments in SourcingCollaborate with manager in setting realistic and challenging operational goals, and contribute to their accomplishmentPeriodically prepare and implement supporting work plansProvide support to Marketing and Sales functions in their proposal effortsUnderstand strategies for assigned commodities and proactively drive initiatives to meet Sourcing objectives Identify and qualify new suppliers Assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations on supplier acceptability Implement sourcing standards including process & execution, synergies for cost out Drive productivity opportunities with supply base to deliver cost out goals Support commodity buys Write reports to track PO activity and supplier performance Analyze and track Supplier promise date accuracy and develop reports to ensure Supplier promise date accuracy Drive effective recovery plans and create payment tracking and invoice analysis. tracking / invoice analysis Place Purchase Orders (PO) timely and obtain PO acknowledgements from SuppliersQualifications/RequirementsBachelor s degree (in Science/Engineering) from an accredited university or collegeAt least 5 years of full-time work experience, At least 3 years of experience in a Sourcing/Purchasing position in an industrial goods environmentConversant with the supplier base in the region for one or more commodity group Which includes Machined parts , Medium and heavy fabrications , engineered systems and C partsExperience/ability to work on sourcing activities across multiple commodities / product categoriesDesired CharacteristicsDemonstrated problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, contracts, etcStrong project/program management skillsAbility to build trust-based relationships with suppliers & teamDemonstrated ability to work with diverse international/multi-location groupsAdditional experience in Sourcing and writing fulfillment reports using MS Access, SQL or Visual Basic is preferred Efficient with Oracle 11.3, COPICS, DART and AP systems Strong quantitative and analytical skills PC and database proficiency Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering)
