Responsible for the gathering, analyzing, and assembling information concerning custody and non-custody lines of business within the Northern Trust Reconciliations department. As a key member of the Reconciliations Department, the Senior Consultant is at the hub of the business, and this role will include participating in Case Studies, Special Projects, Regulatory impact and responding to internal and external inquiries. The Reconciliations team is responsible for the preparation of daily / weekly reports, control and investigation of incoming S.W.I.F.T / mail, ensuring all open items are prioritized / investigated, and all queries are logged / updated in current systems. Work could involve clarification of payment details to ensure appropriate funds allocation, ensuring line management is advised of all non-receipts / rejections (as required), taking corrective action on incorrect payments to reduce potential financial risk and reputation damage, investigating, tracking (prioritizing) and resolving all queries. 1.Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and administering programs that support the strategic goals of the Reconciliations department 2.As subject area expert, works closely with new business opportunities, Regulatory changes, Audit, Risk and Control teams3.Provides consultative oversight and expert advice to new clients on operational capabilities. 4.Provides thought leadership on difficult requests and closely manages client expectations to ensure service levels are attainable. 5.Creates presentation material and other documents to share with clients, prospects and partners 6.Cultivates and maintains working relationships with internal servicing, product, and various operations areas to meet and exceed client expectations 7.Assists clients, partners, and staff with complex problem resolution. Consults on effective ways to meet client needs or appropriate method to be used for resolution of an error 8.Develops periodic goals, set short-term priorities, monitor all activities, and ensure timely and accurate completion of the work Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management 9.Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of current operational processes and work to deliver measurable improvements to productivity and client service 10.Take an active participation in the design and implementation of new products, to ensure the operational response meets requirements and can be adequately controlled. 11.Manage the operational risk within the entire process, through the identification of risk points, adherence to procedures and that adequate skilled resources are maintained. Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function.
